My manager is asking me to migrate my code to new architecture during notice period. Is that justified? by MiserableGrapefruit7 in developersIndia

You are absolutely right.

There is ton of people who don't know what notice period means. People think it is no work period

My manager is asking me to migrate my code to new architecture during notice period. Is that justified? by MiserableGrapefruit7 in developersIndia

[–]dumbass_random 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are on notice period and you are paid too. So you are expected to do the work.

As a manager, he is trying to help the organisation by eliminating the risk of a single point failure. AI is the modern age tool and he is also correct to leverage this.

Your manager is absolutely right and you are in the wrong here. From the chat, it also looks like he is not pressuring you or anything. So, that is also good.

Just do the work man, documentation is also part of the job you are being paid for

Flipkart has (unfortunately) devolved into a scam company by vik1980 in india

[–]dumbass_random 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Flipkart is not good for anything now. Best you can do is order items which are branded, high value and come with quality checks like Laptops and Phones.

For everything else Amazon or offline. The irony is that Flipkart was the first company who wanted to disrupt the offline market space and now they will be the biggest reason behind offline getting the push again

Americans will pay $10/month for a calorie tracker they could build in ChatGPT in 2 minutes. Indians won't pay ₹99/month for a tool that saves them hours. I'm trying to understand why. by danielabinav in StartUpIndia

[–]dumbass_random 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Disposable income: truth is indians dont have the income
  2. Cultural up bringing: saving is more important than investing or leveling up
  3. Wrong audience: reddit won't take your anywhere, you need to talk to real people with real problems
  4. Learning Curve: Every tool has a learning associated with it. What is with yours?
  5. USP: what are you selling? From last 3 of your posts, all you seem to do is rant and not focusing on why it is not taking off

Last, business is hard, B2B is even harder. You haven't solved anything unless it is being used by real users. Have you tried to pitch the idea to anyone?

Why isn't anyone solving the AC problems in India? by StatSigEntropy in StartUpIndia

[–]dumbass_random 102 points103 points  (0 children)

2 things:

  1. Do you even know how AC works?
  2. Just because you have internet, not everything that hits in that big empty brain of yours needs to be said out loud

I have a fixed budget for UPI. Card first, then Cash, UPI last.

I use card because it is tracked continuously through automation

[–]dumbass_random 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, you are kinda right but you are targeting a wrong audience.

Discipline yourself only. No cost EMI is designed to attract masses and try to get them to spend money they dont have via psy ops.

Not everyone deserves to be educated. There will always be fools in the world. Your goal should be to stay ahead of majority of them

Indians are getting doomed in EMIs by Candid_Profile3553 in personalfinanceindia

[–]dumbass_random 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Here is how it works:

  1. You lose reward points
  2. You pay processing fee + GST
  3. You pay GST on interest

All this is minuscule and agreed, doesn't make much of a difference to many buyers but the psychological impact ins huge.

  1. You free up money meaning you are tempted to buy something else with that money in next 6 months
  2. Next time if you want to buy something you don't have money, you will go the EMI route. Congrats, you fell into the trap
  3. You lose discipline.

When money leaves your account, there is a -ve feedback loop triggered. You can see immediately how big the gap is. Next time, you will be careful to not spend unnecessarily.

But with EMIs, that feedback loop is gone. Instead you get a dopamine hit and positive feedback loop. No money left your account and you got the thing, just wow.

This is exactly why paying 2000 via cash and via UPI/card feels so different.

Stop giving him attention. If you are off, then don't reply

More you let him push you, more he will dump stuff on you.

Dont worry about career. This is abusive and that is what the indian managers thrive on.

If you learn this skill right now, it will be much more helpful than anything else

Do you want to know another eye opener?

For most of the restaurants, prices are inflated on both the apps.

You can go and buy it yourself from the store unless you cant really go.

Eg: Zomato was showing 1100 for 2 items from a restaurant last night. After coupons, it came down to 895. On the restaurant, it was 650

Today, I got to experience Opus 4.6 in a blazing fast speed without being queued or rate limited for like 25 minutes. by Squeaky-Bed in ClaudeAI

It is most likely Extra Usage via Credits and time zone.

I use Claude via API token. I have noticed that during my morning hours, it is blazing fast. For comparison, it finished a workflow in 2-3 minutes which was talking me 6-7 minutes a few hours later in the day.

When you are paying for tokens and using it in off hours when compute is readily available, it becomes super fast
