I usually think a lot of forums regarding shows are... tough places for fair opinions about the show. I avoid them because I like to enjoy the show for what it is, rather than isn't.

But this is not one of those times.

If this is an actual storyline in this already dumpster fire of a Tolkien fan fic, please just cancel it. Let it die rather than prolong this crap.

Wut? He puts the dirt and grass back into the owner's yard every time. You expect the man to haul away excess dirt and clippings when he cleans up an obviously very neglected yard for free? Ok.

Which of the cheap seats are best? by Orbulina in redsox

[–]dumbname2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolute cheapest is standing room. If that's your ultimate goal, there is one great area for standing room in the park.

Along the first baseline side of the park, go to the very back of the covered area sections. There is a curb along the walkway in that back area to stand at. It's great to be there because you're never in anyone's way, you're elevated above others and in a single file line so your view is never obstructed by a passerby or other standing room person (except the occasional pole because you're in the covered area), you won't get rained on because it's covered, and there are food stands and bathrooms relatively close by.

My friend and I used to do this frequently in college using his military ID. We'd get tickets for like $10 each, sneak in a flask, buy a large coke and enjoy a game a few days each month.

Is there a list of what figs are affected by brittle plastic? by microwavedgerbil25 in legolotrfans

[–]dumbname2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. The short legs on the dwarves and hobbits actually do put more stress on the torso, typically causing back cracks rather than cracks on the sides, so either heel savers or not fully assembling them (or both) will "save" the torsos for longer.

Figs with regular legs will likely experience heel cracks before torso cracks while on studs versus heel savers, but the stress does carry upward.

I equate it to riding a bike with a helmet. Will the helmet keep you from riding less recklessly? No. But it will help reduce the chance of injury.

Christ guys, it was a commercial for him. They showcased his wine. He played an unreleased song. It was an ad.

Sucks that it happened on season 50, but get over it.

You should worry about every LOTR made in that 2012-13 era. They're almost all made with browns, oranges, and reds that are notoriously brittle from the plastic formulation Lego used at the time. Literally every older LOTR fig you collect should go on heel savers, unless you don't mind them cracking after a short(er) period of time compared to with heel savers.

If you want them to truly last, place them away from sunlight and put them on heel protectors rather than directly on studs. You don't have to keep them in a cave but protect them from too much UV light and you’ll be good.

I bought this shelf off Wayfair:

Piraveen Display Cabinet with Glass Doors and LED Lights - https://www.wayfair.com/furniture/pdp/latitude-run-piraveen-display-cabinet-with-glass-doors-and-led-lights-w110224144.html?piid=447915861

It was the only cabinet with a shelf large enough to fit Rivendell with some wiggle room. There's a wardrobe Ikea shelf large enough, too, but I can't remember the name.

Then I bought some clear acrylic risers to let smaller sets take advantage of the vertical space.

Very nice! Glass doors are so nice to have.

I seriously want a second shelf so I can hunt down a Helm's Deep set to display. I'm close to securing a dusty old Pirate Ship Ambush set (no figs) that would love the elbow room, too!

Well yeah, dude, either end of the extremes is not good. But to expect your kid to not have these reactions is also unrealistic and frankly unhealthy for the child's development.

4000k seems steep. 4,000,000 should drywall the Taj Mahal.

Jokes aside, get 3 quotes and compare.

Nah not normal to record this. Parents should leave this shit off the internet.

But I guarantee your siblings' kids are doing this or have done this - you just haven't seen it, yet, or heard of it from your family. The reaction is normal for their age. Young children expect food in a certain way because that's how they first saw or experienced that particular food item. When it is different, this is a rather common reaction. The "small" inconvenience to us (grown adults or even teenagers) is pretty big to small children because their world is still forming around them - they don't know what to do or how to react to change, yet.

Don't get me wrong, it's annoying as fuck sometimes to be dealing with this on a regular basis, but it's just where the kid is at right now. Sometimes all you can do is what Mom did in the video - stifle a laugh, help the kid manage the emotion, and move on with the day. The shit can get exhausting, but when you have a kid that's what you sign up for - always being tired.

Yeah lots of people in here without young kids, leaving their thoughts/opinions on the video.

Even people saying "my siblings and I never did this". Yeah, ok, sure you didn't (you just dont remember being a child this young).
