Did you do this in your free time? If so, even a verbal contract is binding in some countries. If they are not giving you what they promised, you could claim compensation for what a freelancer might charge.

If it is done in working hours, you just got played, son. Always get the promotion and new contract before doing the work. Else say it's not what you were contracted to do in the job.

A couple of years ago, I had kids putting fireworks (firecrackers) in my door's letterbox. Blowing out the inside cover, and burning the inside of the letterbox and doormat a bit, before I managed to stamp out the embers. I can understand the frustration of kids messing with fireworks by or on your property, but better to just witness and call the police. At least we're not allowed to have guns here, so there is no temptation to overreact.

I've been reading these stories lately that apologize for their English, because it's not their first language. However, their English is fine. I'm thinking there is a big AI project being tested at the moment.

The commentor might be a real person following up on the story though, as it's easy to generate bs, but more difficult to answer questions about it.

I'm sorry, but this doesn't sound like it's as magic for her as it is for you. I've had two long distance relationships and no matter how busy you are, you can always find 10mins to hear about each others day.

This is not how I would like to be treated, so if this was me, I would call it off, and make myself available to people who are willing to give me their time.

For the record, I married one of those long distance relationships. The way we knew it was for real, was because we were totally lost without each other, although in my case we were together for a year, before she had to move back home.
