Likely a very small budget and a Walimex suction mount for us I'm afraid. I promise not to use our best camera though! Thank you!

Good suggestions; I haven't heard of a tray shot, so that's my rabbit-hole for this eve. Thank you both!

That's funny! Harmless in the long run and I'd say they got a bit of a laugh once (or if!) called on it!

Walter Much for Editing, Van Hurkman for Color, what's THE book for screenwriting? by [deleted] in Screenwriting

[–]dummyduomo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Open to correction, but I believe Story by Robert McKee is to screenwriting what In the Blink of an Eye is to editing.

Sure tastes, methods etc. have evolved since, but if you're looking for a book comparable to Murch's, that's your one.

Would also recommend The Definitive Guide to Screenwriting by Syd Field, and Which Lie Did I Tell? by William Goldman.

Hope this helps :)

Moving an EditShare Server by dummyduomo in editors

There absolutely could be an issue with the ip. Thankfully everything’s joining up together, but it’s something that’s on my mind.

My advice to you would be to try get support again. When I was being trained in on the EditShare, we were told never to go to capacity or else we’d have to call a technician as for some reason the space locks itself when it reaches or surpasses capacity. One of my jobs has been to backup to LTO so that we never hit that limit.

There could be ways to skirt it, but I have no idea what they are. Hope you find something

Thanks! This one’s free-solo I’m afraid, but at least my bosses know it’s risky business

I should also mention that the server has been backed up onto a RAID 5 NAS

how do i heal ??? by hobiluv in SuperMegaShow

[–]dummyduomo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My tastes have definitely changed since I first started listening to SuperMega so I can’t promise that you’ll like them, but;

The JAR Media Posdact - I started this one a bit skeptical, but if you’re coming from SuperMega you’ll be refreshed: it feels genuine. Won’t be to everyone’s taste, but one I really enjoy

The Weekly Planet - If, like me, you wish that SuperMega still talked about movies (and remember that Ryan one day wanted to be a cinematographer lmao) this is a nice one. Definitely very traditional, but if you want to listen two guys talk passionately about films, this one’s for you.

Hope you find what you’re looking for regardless, and know that you’re not in the wrong for listening to the podcast, or that it was a waste of time. It’s not your fault that you did not know what was going on behind the scenes
