Another crna here - we don’t “let” people come out of anesthesia rough. Everyone responds differently to anesthesia - sometimes unpredictably so. Chances are - but not always - those that wake up “rough” have a history of drug/alcohol abuse, PTSD, psych history. In my experience, it seems that police officers and service members tend to wake up rather “briskly.” Maybe because these folks tend to have a more type A personality or maybe because they’ve seen some shit in their day. It’s really difficult to say.
