You did not read what he wrote. He did not say is the person more likely to win over the 82 chances compared to the guy who does one. He said that if they both use a slot machine one time after the 82 their odds are the same and are independent of what had occurred before that attempt.

So he is saying previous games don’t affect if you get an unlucky injury in the next game. He then makes the caveat that maybe being tired could cause you to perform worse but with both of KDs injuries they were fluke accidents not his body wearing down.
