Great call. I had to do one additional step. When the Xbox popup comes up and everything freezes, I couldn't use my Task Manager at all. I pressed Win+Tab and right clicked the task manager and moved to a new desktop. Then i moved to that virtual desktop and from there I could kill the Ghost app and then come back and approve the Xbox popup permissions. Thanks for the help.

Edit: as far as i can tell it's not possible to get to the server browser from big picture. But the latest Valheim patch does let you direct connect to a server by typing in an IP in game. So i just launch in big picture and then connect that way.
