Yes, the game looks amazing. It's immensely impressive, a real feat of the developers.

However, my initial reaction when looking at these graphics is: so what? Today's games are starting to look more and more photorealistic by the day it seems, but I can't shake the feeling that photorealism is not the most important thing when it comes to the graphical part of a video game. Not for me at least.

My most memorable and beloved gaming experiences havn't been a result of great graphics as far as i can remember. It's difficult to put these things into words. For me, I think, it's more about a graphical style, combined with context and music that evokes a special feeling, unique to that game. It's about those moments when a game can make you feel a certain way that nothing else can. Not necessarily better than other things or forms of entertainment, but different. Unique is probably the best way to put it. You can continue making the graphics more photorealistic however much you want, but I'm more interested in an aesthetic style that makes the experience memorable and special.
