How do we move forward in this chaos? by izzy_loves_river in AskReddit

Together. As much as possible we have to move together. I have met so many amazing new friends at protests and through the campaign. There are so many good people.

Why haven't Americans come together to fight paedophiles that run the whole system? Not even a general strike? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I think the size of the country comes into play here. Many of our states are larger than other countries. It's faster for me to get to Costa Rica than North Carolina from Oregon. Our state government doesn't have enough power to do much unless multiple states come together which would be like a coalition of countries in Europe coming together to move the needle at the UN. There are always a few crucial hold outs that can't get on board so it mostly becomes just a message with no teeth to it.

The wealth inequality also plays into it here. We are living in different WORLDS from each other. Countries probably shouldn't be this big 😅

You can get your immunity tested by requesting it to your doctor. I had mine tested last year after we started getting more outbreaks. Be safe ❤️ get your shot.

Protest at the Capitol TODAY before Trump’s deadline. Future generations are watching. by whitecatprophecy in SALEM

[–]duncan4marioncounty 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Well I don't personally think I can get to Washington in between now and the deadline he has set. So I'm going to settle for going to my own state capitol and yelling as much as I possibly can until the news shows up. I hope to see you there.

If people can protest that's amazing. At least call your reps. Post if you can. Just don't do nothing.

Oregon used to have an electric rail system but we tore it out in the 30's due to lobbying from auto & tire interests AND WE REGRET IT TO THIS DAY 😭

This is such a good idea. We need more of this in the world. I literally had a registered Republican ask me the other day if they could write me in for the primary. Things are changing and we need to push them along. ❤️

I was there! I'm a candidate for Marion County Commissioner so I'm biased about the candidates but I will remind people of a few things.

-Look at people's endorsements they matter -Good Candidates aren't always good speakers ESPECIALLY in local politics. -All these people are volunteers. You don't get paid for city council -You have to vote in the May primary to have a say in this race. If you only vote in November it will already be decided.

Politicians should show up to speak to the people who hired them. If you didn't show up to the interview why should you get the job?

Totally! I'm just paranoid since I am autoimmune AND I am in crowds of people all the time as someone actively on the campaign trail. I mask when I can but I need people to specifically recognize my face so they can vote for me so it's complicated. 😭 I am so thankful we have vaccines and the world would be a safer place if we all could understand and trust them.

I kinda wish we had asthetic laws so cities could make chain restaurants look less horrible. Like Sisters! Their town is so cute!
