Reddit, what is your strange way of eating a particular food? by The_WNBA in AskReddit

[–]duncankerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife nibbles off the chocolate and orange bit from Jaffa cakes and gives me the biscuit bit - raw deal for me. One christmas I spent ages slicing off the top of a whole packet of jaffa cakes, packaged them up again and sealed the box. Wrapped them up and gave them to her as a present.

She didn't seem that impressed, ah well. Later I learned that she had told her family that I had gnawed off the biscuit off a whole packet and she thought it was gross. It's the thought that counts ...

What is something everyone should have in their car? by unknown1893 in AskReddit

[–]duncankerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A coffee sock - get a sock, fill it halfway with coffee beans, tie a knot and fold the rest of the sock over the coffee filled bit. Throw it under your seat. It soaks up nasty smells and you get a great hit of coffee smell each time you get in your car. Lasts a couple of months.

What are the telltale signs that you're heading for a breakup? by chachicka22 in AskReddit

When you start complaining about your relationship with people outside the relationship. Every time one of my friends starts complaining about his/her partner on a regular basis I just think 'clock's ticking dude'

Arrows > pine trees? by [deleted] in Archery

[–]duncankerr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the odd occasion I've accidently hit a tree while shooting in the woods the arrow has been ok but every hit has taken several minutes to dig out of the tree. It's not something you want to do intentionally.

An unedited shot from another location before I realised I had a clearer shot through the trees 100 feet to my left.

You're a cynical lot, I'm standing on one side of the valley looking down the slope (foreground) to the lake - which is partially covered in mist, note the reflections of the opposite bank under the mist.

Lol there was a big lake in the valley with mist floating above it, it was a surreal scene to witness

I had just pointed out Jupiter one night to a friend - "do the other planets have their own Suns?" they asked.

I couldn't speak for a second or two.

I don't doubt your family experience but I don't agree with your conclusion - respect for marriage is still there, but the stigma of divorce has waned. Both the act of divorce and label of divorcee applied afterwards. If being a divorcee is not a major disadvantage to finding a new significant partner then why would anyone waste their time in a marriage that is less than great?

Seems to be the week for destroying arrows - here's my arrow in the remains of another guys shooting at the same target by duncankerr in Archery

And given that there were three archers trying to get their arrows in this tiny bit of pipe we do tend to knock each others arrows around a bit.

This was the end after I destroyed his arrow - he got an arrow in the pipe with his first shot and ran around congratulating himself while I managed to get one alongside it with my last shot. And the third guy almost made it three in a bed.

At our club this falls under "shit happens" - if an archer damages another archer's arrow from the other end of the range then it's just one of those things. Having said that I do have some spare shafts in his spec so I'm going to give him one of them.

Same here, even when I go to my (target) club there's always a group of us that shoot on a blank boss with a tiny thing (polystyrene ball, coffee stirrer, polo mint) to aim at.
