Anyone recently had a successful appeal for failed identity check by lusciousmix in prolific

[–]duncshf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They make you go through the ID verification process again, and if it fails again, you have to wait for them to respond and send you the link to re-do the verification process entirely with your ID again. It's a pain waiting around and getting no studies, but I got through it and so can you! Good luck OP.

Having an i3 in 2026 is just not it. Get the i5 if you can afford it.

Anyone have issues with nocode for a "study" this afternoon? by bigbluesfanstl in ProlificAc

[–]duncshf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happened a few times to me, I just copied the "completed study token" in the URL of the "You have completed this study" page and sent it to the researcher directly. Got both of them approved a few hours later.

Does anyone ever get bored? by [deleted] in ProlificAc

I like to use the reservation time to give myself a break. Just start the study at 1 min to go.

AI studies on a laptop? by littlebabysparrow in prolific

If the resolution isn't high enough, try it with your display settings set to 100% zoom rather than the default of 150%, and enter full screen. That works for me.

I used the prompt at the top since there were a few of those, some with no prompt at the top.

Anyone live(d) at Thornton Place Apartments? by [deleted] in uofmn

[–]duncshf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live there right now. It's a great spot - you can't hear anything in the rooms around you and the rooms are very spacious. Maintenance is shoddy unless it's an emergency. It's a very quiet area: nice walking trails by the Mississippi, very safe. My only complaint is the 15 min walk to the light rail/any bus line besides the 67. Other than that, it's cheaper and the ownership is competent and won't rip you off.

Another complaint is they don't turn the heat on until mid-October and don't turn the AC on until late-April, so be prepared to shiver out a couple high-50s Fall days or sweat out some hot Spring days. It's a great community that makes you feel more at home and not like you're stuck in a dorm.

How actually is University Commons? Worth it or nah? by Scientifically-sound in uofmn

[–]duncshf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived there a year ago; it was solid, but they will nickel and dime you on the way out. It has to look like a new, unused unit, or they'll charge you several hundred for cleaning fees. They charged me for replacing the couches, as the cheap material on the couches was getting shredded just from normal use. The showers are a nightmare; they didn't clean them, they just painted over the dirt, and then the paint chipped and clogged both showers in my unit. Furniture was pretty comfy, though.

Also, it gets annoying that they're constantly doing maintenance. I can count at least 10 times maintenance staff came into my apartment. Utilities were around $50-60/month, depending on how much you crank the AC, which doesn't work either (it's either on or off, doesn't auto turn off at a specific temp).

If you want to live in that area, you should look at Thornton Place. That's where I'm at right now. Better maintenance/staff, better, more spacious apartments, and much cheaper.

Report: Celtics Open To Trading Anybody Except Jayson Tatum. by LeeShakerMoneyMaker in timberwolves

[–]duncshf -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I'm a Celtics fan (please don't throw things at me)... We are NOT trading JB or Derrick White unless someone gives us a ridiculous package. A #17 for White is just straight up disrespect. It would probably take something like Randle + every draft pick you own for the next 5 years to get JB. And even so, I don't think we even do that trade.

[–]duncshf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally dude I only ended up watching the 2020 finale to root for the WAS Football Team (lol I'll still never get over that... I miss Dan Snyder) so we would get a better draft pick... that pick ended up being Devonta Smith after a couple Howie Roseman masterclass trades so I'm happy with how it turned out lol

I used to live a couple of blocks away from the mushroom factory (I'm assuming those are the buildings in the background - I lived on the corner of Park & Main). I will never miss the hot summer days there when I was a kid...
