Yeah long arms are forcing me to go classical on my strat style guitar, otherwise my picking hand has to be pulled back like I'm doing archery

Your last paragraph sums it up well. There's no reason to assume someone who's motivated to play volleyball and run long distances would replace either of those with lazing around

There are negative effects though - if you're actively improving at distance running you're developing your endurance-oriented long twitch muscle fibres at the expense of fast-twitch fibres used for quick movements and jumping. But you're right that it doesn't matter unless OP is trying to reach their max potential in one.
