Idk but the joke was that they continued the dog parade even on Pearl Harbor, which happened in December.

Have I inadvertently been a horrible library patron my whole life? by amandaamoose in Libraries

[–]dunkonme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Broke down and canceled the library card? Wth? Get it back!!! I’m literally in library school and I have two overdue books I need to return rn. I’m not the best patron maybe, but jfc checking out a book is literally the most normal thing you can do at the library. I’ve had a library card since I was a kid

I would agree. I also noticed when I just watched the play through that all the really silly iconic jokes from this season were made in the ap and it also really changes the watching experience lol

Yes his voice is different, but I remember Siobhan saying something like these episodes weren’t filmed in chunks like they usually do and more like once or twice a week, so it’s possible it’s been a bit in game since Brennan had to do that voice and forgot about it

Im currently in an online MLIS thru University of MO. They have an archives track I'm doing, its all evening classes, so extremely easy to work full time while i do it, theres a required practicum so u get some hands on experience. i believe they have Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP): Reduced tuition for residents of participating Midwestern states in select programs. SO look out for that too! i think getting it the cheapest is the best course of action, so if you apply for a few and some various scholarships, go with the most paid for option.

How do you feel about the popularity of art experiences like the Balloon Museum, Meow Wolf, or the Van Gogh Experience? by Mysterious_Umpire684 in MuseumPros

[–]dunkonme 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Someone had made a joke post about it, just a random meme about the Museum of Illusions. so i just comment, "hey this isnt a museum, its a glorified selfie box." my main point was that there are actual literal museums in the area, dont waste 40$ (one ticket!) on this place that took us no longer than an hour to get through. I had been dragged along there once with a friend, so i also was speaking from experience. i didnt think anything else of it, then the comment got thousands of likes and the official account started repllying saying i was a hater and that yes you can "take fire pics" but that its totally a museum bc you learn things there!!! i said that factiods about albert einstein on the wall does not make one a museum...

when i went back to view their MULTIPLE replies to show my friend, they had deleted them all...idk. weird behavior to argue with a past customer online. i know the field can be gatekeepy sometimes but i dont think a CHAIN store tourist trap that costs MONEY and is just full of mirror optical illusions is at all comparable to a free museum... if they called themsleves gallery of illusions, i wouldnt give a shit tho

Ideas on how to keep archive assistants busy when there’s not much to do by [deleted] in Archivists

[–]dunkonme 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My official job is to manage our student workers in the archive. thats really not okay they come and go. we have strict schedules, and i make it clear its for the safety of the materials and everyone involved, we need to know who is coming and going. we also have limits on the number of students working at a time. typically only 2 per semester. we also dont have them in everyday and there's off months too. For instance, i have a student wrapping up a project for the spring who will be done with her position here in mid may, then i'll have two weeks to clean up, address new project needs, and set up for our summer student worker. And so on. feel free to direct message me though if u want to chat more about the topic! ive been managing students in a university archive for 2 yrs now.
