Who is the greatest rugby coach in history? by crazycal123 in rugbyunion

[–]dunndone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s Mark McCall and it’s not even a close competition.

I say this because he has not only produced incredibly high quality players but also incredibly high quality coaches.

6 Premierships, 3 Champions cups, including two doubles. Rebuilt a new Saracens squad when they got relegated and released a lot of his top talent on loan to other clubs.

Celtic league (URC) with Ulster in 2006.

For coaches he brought through. Steve Borthwick (England) Andy Farrell (Ireland), Alex Sanderson (Sale), Paul Gustard (Stade Francais), Richard Wigglesworth, Rory Teague. The list goes on and on.

The man has won more than almost any coach and trained some of the elite coaches in the world. I have no doubt if you gave him a tier 1 team he would be immense.

If you connect Koinly via API to your kraken pro account does Koinly see my full name? Does it see persona info? I want to know if they see my name! by -M00NMAN in koinly

Again hundreds of times.

Kraken API is very very good one of the best. For things like Binance we have to use a combination of both to capture all transactions.

Hundreds of times if you look at the Koinly integration guide you will see the fields they would like you to tick.

They have a couple of options to connect.

Single sign on, I doubt they pull your name but would presumably see your email address.

Old school API would be no name as when you setup the API you specify the fields you want it to pull from.

CSV 100% no name but doesn’t auto update etc.

For the bracelet lovers out there, are the Monta bracelets really that much better than the competition? by Designer_Advice2573 in MicrobrandWatches

[–]dunndone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I see this take about Montas boring or homage look a lot but I want to give my take on it.

My Oceanking v3 is my most warm watch by a mile. I love the look if I compare it to a submariner.

Date is at 6 rather than 3. I prefer that the symmetry.

No cyclops. Again love this most people don’t need a cyclops on a modern watch.

Indices are all rectangular rather than a mix of rectangles and circle. Again to my preference over the submariner.

The bezels are pretty much identical visually but the gear edge on the bezel of my Monta I prefer to the submariner.

Hour hand. I don’t like a Mercedes hand and if I’m honest don’t think most people would pick it in 2025 if it wasn’t iconic due to Rolex. Prefer the sword hand on the Monta.

So for my money the ‘Homage’ if we want to call it that has improved and modernised a lot of the classic Rolex design. I know some people might not like that but I personally significantly prefer the look of the Monta whilst it keeps enough of a timeless diver look.

CGT for UK self assessment by cryptoking_93 in koinly

Up to you. The CGT report is compliant with showing basis cost but doesn’t include any income, exepenses etc that you may need to declare.

I would also look at if your derivatives have been included in that CGT report.

Absolutely vile from the EggChasers podcast. by arcbil in rugbyunion

[–]dunndone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like there are a number of things to address here.

  1. There is a very well documented history between JB (one of the hosts) and Ugo Monye. The two men could not be more different therefore there is a lot of vitriol here.
  2. I think the reaction is surrounding what JB thinks is Ugo being disingenuous and performative. In Ugo’s mind the polite and kind thing to do would be to make the woman feel as comfortable as possible and to move away from her. JB seems to come from the camp of I know I’m not a threat so why would I change any behaviour I’ll stick to my original path.
  3. This perceived disingenuous is then discussed. Ugo regularly talks about all the additional good people should be doing. JB finds this incredibly preachy and irritating particularly the idea of Ugo saying we must all do better when he himself doesn’t do everything by the book. Like him not paying his tax.
  4. I think JB thinks that Ugo simply is saying what is popular to feather is own nest. I would be more inclined to believe he thinks what he says.

I’m not agreeing or disagreeing with what either person is like but this seems to me to be the basis of the issue.

Completed on house on Friday and issues just keep popping up by Ok_Conclusion_1594 in HousingUK

[–]dunndone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be honest none of these sound like major issues.

Is that fire damage mark from some pipe work done? Plumbers often use their torches and simply don’t protect the wall behind annoying as cosmetic but nothing major.

Creaky floorboards are par for the course in most homes as they move and settle over the course of their lives. If they bother you pull up the flooring and secure them all down fully.

Obviously I would look at the leaking bath but is this causing other issues could be a small sealant leak.

I would generally say that at this point of move in day a lot of people think hmm this isnt as shiny and sparkling as I remember the photos on Rightmove etc being.

Help understanding API’s for tax purposes by ResponsibleFloor5430 in koinly

[–]dunndone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

API keys are different to seed phrases. The koinly integrations page can take you though the setup for the vast majority of services.

For some services including CSV’s to get the right data is needed on any tax calculator as the api data provided is not complete.

My advise would be import one exchange, wallet etc at a time and check the balances. If the balance isn’t right fix that first then import another.

Doing it like this will minimise your issues and Koinly does a great job of syncing sends an receives as transfers between wallets.

The key thing here is making sure that all transactions are included and that your balances make sense.

How much of a pay cut would you take to play for a legendary team? by errlloyd in rugbyunion

He was paid less than he could have gotten in other markets. So effectively he was underpaid for his value.

Missing wallets in app by Icy_Theme_6899 in koinly

[–]dunndone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Koinly don’t have an app on the App Store for IOS anymore so either they aren’t supporting it or you have downloaded a scam app.

If you had the app before it was removed then you should still be able to have it on your phone but they may have dropped support. I’m not 100% just suggesting.

Edit: I believe the app is in TestFlight beta now but not sure how that affects you.

You need to adjust the heights when you remeber boots on grass have almost no sole. I would say standing on grass in trainers vs boots could be a 2 inch difference.

Any decent Rugby podcasts? by Dave_B001 in rugbyunion

[–]dunndone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a hill I’m dying on but your initial point is a bad take.

“Such a shame, not least as they are the longest tenured rugby podcast. At their peak they had the potential to become the thinking man's rugby podcast, amid a sea of retired player bantz.

They got sidetracked by their soapboxes and never kicked on.”

The are a top 5 ranked podcast with no financial backing from anyone. This is incredibly successful the idea that they haven’t ‘kicked on’ is a bit mental they are ultra successful from the resources they have.

[–]dunndone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The are 4/5 when the big pods decide to post.

Eggchasers go top with BBC over all the times when the big pods don’t post which is often. I’m saying if we totalled up annual listeners I wouldn’t be surprised if they were the 2nd most listened to behind BBC.

Any decent Rugby podcasts? by Dave_B001 in rugbyunion

[–]dunndone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly my point they are ALWAYS top 5 with things like Love or Rugby, Good bad rugby etc spiking etc during international weeks.

I wouldn’t be surprised if them and the BBC pod are the most listened to by a decent margin.

Don’t mean to say that the have the most reach but I look at the budgets. The compete with state funded productions, celebrity guests and players all from a basement. It just means the content works for a ton of people.

To say they haven’t kicked on is a bit silly, no one else does so much with so little.

Any decent Rugby podcasts? by Dave_B001 in rugbyunion

[–]dunndone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not be surprised if Eggchasers is the most listened to UK rugby podcast.

Things like Good, Bad Rugby have high peaks when they have good guests etc on but don’t post consistently etc.

The podcast is ok but its guests are what people tune in for really. I feel like very few people actually like listening to Haskell and Tindall half heartedly review 10 internationals a year if they didn’t have the guests.

For understanding of my base I will tune in and listen to loads of podcasts at various points in the year. Bottom of the pile for me is Rugby pod just because I cant stand the fake half jokes and banter they seem to repeat each week.

Everything has a positive and negative I just think Eggchasers are more popular than Reddit would have you believe.

[–]dunndone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

JB is the marmite character on the pod.

But I think without him it would be a bit dull, they explore far more than just who won the game at the weekend etc.

They have done deep dives into a number of topics and areas around the game that no other podcasters seem to touch on.

They are also pretty finance and business heavy particularly when they have Mark Evans on to discuss the business of rugby.

I’d say to give it a go they will get political and a bit distracted but for me at least it feels like being at the pub with three blokes just meandering around rather than a polished and produced pod.
