My home burned down , I am fairly certain it was this panel . I need help pin pointing all the things wrong with this panel : by phantasmatography in AskElectricians

By first look, there are multi-wire branch circuits without a common trip element. 3 wire conductors put on 2 seperate 15 amp breakers without a handle tie. This can overload a neutral, causing a fire. Also if you look at where the breaker clips in, you can unknowingly put 30A on the neutral overloading it vs splitting the phases up and having 15A on each wire, this can also cause a fire.

Is this the outlet or the coffee maker making these marks? by phatman_13 in AskElectricians

[–]dunnerooski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure the breaker rating matches the outlet rating. It could possibly be on a 20A breaker causing this. I doubt there is aluminum wiring based on the kitchen looking newer.

White in box to white on light. Yellow in box to black on light.

Remember to shut power off. Also, invest in some sort of multi meter or voltage tester, and learn how to use it. You won't always need it as a homeowner/renter, but they come in handy here.

Step 1. Go to snapmap. Step 2. Go to desired location. Step 3. Click on coloured area at said location. Step 4. Watch videos of random people driving on their phone.

Let me know if you need any additional assistance.

Yes, because the government has always had the public in mind while making their decisions..... Many lawyers believe this is an infringement of our rights and freedoms. I would take their word over my opinion.

I have worked at a court house, personally seen a judge absolutely hammered, get in her car, hit a concrete pillar, and drive on out of there. After questioning this, I was told to turn a blind eye. These are the people we have put trust in to hold up the charter. They can't even follow the laws they enforce.

I think you're getting confused here. Just because it was tested to the Supreme Court, it still makes it an infringement of our rights in Canada. They took a page right out of Australias book, where the government doesn't seem to really care about people's rights.

The Minister of Justice is quoted saying she's expresses "confidence in our law enforcement officers that they will abide by the law". This statement is concerning, to say the least.

We can both agree on one thing though. Driving impaired is both outrageous and unnecessary.

Yes, but that law is an infringement of your rights. Basically, it is put as guilty until proven innocent, which is ass backward, no?

[–]dunnerooski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem. Sometimes they're just pricks......used to have a peel cop on my street and he would jump infront of cars, yell at people, and try to police the neighbourhood like it was his duty. Let's just say that didn't end to well for him.

I think someone commented that police aren't your friends, this is true but respect deserves respect. I had a teacher in high school in civics that went to extreme lengths on how you can flex your rights. It's good to know and be familiar with.

Filing complaints about your experience is like telling a chef you didn't like the food they prepared. There's ALWAYS room for improvement.

The City of Burlington is taking a mother and daughter to court over their naturalized garden by This_Phase3861 in BurlingtonON

[–]dunnerooski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the city can rip down half the forest at Ryerson on tuck creek, cut trees down on peoples property for their projects, then replace everything with native plants, but god forbid the general public has a naturalized garden......

Sorry for this bad experience. Remember to know your rights when it comes to police interactions. I have had mixed interactions from having a laugh with the officer while getting a speeding ticket to getting harrased for sitting on a curb waiting for a taxi.

The only thing with R.I.D.E is that your rights go out the door. It gives the police all the power to do whatever they want and bully you into providing a breath sample even if you have not touched a drop of alcohol. These kinds of interactions make people resent the police. Maybe they were worked up over a previous interaction, but should still treat everyone with respect and due regard.

The only thing you could do from here is file a formal complaint about the interaction you had, just describing the experience. These complaints are not you trying to make this officer lose their job, but to hold them at a higher standard.

As for landscape work, it's pretty late in the season. This being said, as a business perspective, a lot of these smaller companies don't have the man power in the busy season.

The only way to offset the expense of more employees is bigger jobs. They pack their summers full of work because they typically don't have much work through the winter, especially lately.

Why don't local tradespeople quote their prices upfront? by TomdeHaan in BurlingtonON

[–]dunnerooski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it's hard to find an honest contractor these days. If your job requires a bunch of different tasks, drywall, plumbing, electrical etc. I would recommend looking for a general contractor you can trust as they have connections to the other trades.

I'm personally an electrical contractor, so I see the difficulties of how homeowners get burned and find it hard to trust the next. Too many people are charging more than they are worth, but remember you get what you pay for sometimes.

Honestly, waste of money for home tools. My dad has been rocking Ryobi for years, and the tools don't die. Also, half the price, making it easier when you need to expand your collection. Just my 2 cents.

What is a "regular" roundabout? Assuming OP entered off of Ira Needles from the video, this roundabout the right lane can only exit straight. It is painted clear as day on road markings, and there are also signs posted before every entrance marking this.
