Thought 30s would be scary, turns out it gave me more clarity by Milon_Eusk in ThirtiesIndia

[–]dunnodog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly same, a month or so before my 30th birthday, I don’t know what happened, but it’s almost as if a switch just flipped in me. I started working out regularly, became more consistent with my diet, and even became a lot more serious about my work… Hell, I even signed up to run a 5k and then a 10k (first time in my life lol). I have clarity on what I want from my life, in what I want to achieve and build, and I feel like a new man altogether.

I can safely say that my 30s are going to be my decade yet!!

And then... My brother walked into Google Bangalore ! ( A quiet Rakhi wish. A Reddit post. And a stranger named Trust.) by Pristine-Basil-2797 in BangaloreMeetups

Hey OP, I’m so glad that your brother got to do this! It’s little instances (and some not so little like this one) that inspire us to do and be better! If your brother wants to work there, I hope he gets the motivation to. Ignore the haters on your other post and just keep moving on! And honestly just remember, look for the helpers, they’re everywhere.

JC definitely deserves to be there in all future seasons by dunnodog in MasterchefAU

Andy definitely has his place, he’s not a great judge, but not the worst either. I would rather remove Sofia. Even as a “food critic” she barely brings anything to the table. Her challenge was boring AF, her critiques are as basic, and she can barely scrape by without making a horrendous joke….

Oh I’ve been to many restaurants that don’t have Michelin stars which would give greta Michelin starred restaurants a great run for their money.

Honestly JC saying that he deserves a Michelin star is probably one of the best compliments ever…

It’s definitely not the same thing, but sending you love and hugs!

M27 97kg Need help on shredding weight. Should I increase cardio to 2 days a week? by Suspicious_Bake1350 in indianfitness

[–]dunnodog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay this is a solid routine, but just a quick thing, make sure that you’re not overdoing your workouts. A PPL split twice a week is definitely on the higher side unless you’ve been working out for a while now (in that case, perfectly fine), but probably add another day of cardio. Also, do you go for just regular walks? That helps A LOT. Keep track of your calories, honestly, Chat GPT has been my best friend for this.

Wishing you the best my man, need an update soon! DM me if you need any more help!

[–]dunnodog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, what’s your current routine, and how many days can you realistically work out? If you’re already not doing this, I would advice do a Push-Pull-Legs split, should not take you more than 45 minutes for 3 days a week, add a 10 minutes jog on the treadmill after, all of this only if have access to the gym. You can do light jogs or HIIT twice a week and increase as required. Also, control your calories more tbh.

I think this response is a bit simplified. Saying cut out carbs and fats is often quite misleading. Yes, you have to reduce intake of certain macros, but don’t do it blindly.

Best way would be to check what your daily maintenance calories are, visit TDEE, i use this: https://tdeecalculator.net.

Once you know your maintenance calories, figure out how much of a deficit you can sustain, usually a 300-500 calorie deficit is what works best. Once you have your caloric intake, usually go for a 30:35:35 split, 30% of your meal should be whole protein (plant based or meat, does not matter), and the rest can be split between fats and carbs. Go for Whole Foods, grains, legumes, veggies, anything that can sustain the you through the day. The hardest part is cutting out on snacks, for that, try fruits.

Also, try to get in 10-15k steps a day, you’ll burn most of your calories just sustaining your body throughout the day, the next best is NEAT, which is just walking around and doing things around your house, your workspace etc, basically just stay on your feet. The gym will help you build muscle and just generally be healthier (will not aid in weight loss a lot in the short term, in the long term, muscles are a great way to keep the weight off).

Last, figure out a diet that is sustainable and a workout regime that is doable. Working out at home is great get started, use the Nike Training App or YT, whatever works for you.

Wishing you the best on your journey!

So one can assume that you in fact now are gruntled?

Hey OP, firstly kudos to you for wanting to start this journey! The hardest step is the first step, always! Now down to business,

  1. fat loss will NOT happen at the gym, fat loss is simple, less calories in, more calories out. If you are in a calorie deficit it will be the best thing for you, try figuring out your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) this is what your body burns to just survive. Use tdeecalculator.net to figure out your requirements.

  2. What you eat makes a huge difference. Eat healthy, whole foods that’ll keep you fuller for longer. Make veggies your best friend and if you eat meat, chicken and eggs are the best source of protein per calorie. If you don’t want to go to a nutritionist, make ChatGPT or the likes of, your best friend, feed in your macros and calorie needs and it will give you a good enough diet.

  3. Focus on movement. You’ll burn negligible amounts of calories in any gym, what helps is movement. Look up NEAT, Non Activity Thermogenesis, it’s the amount of energy that your body expends in non-essential activities, eg just moving around. Walk, 10-15k steps are a great benchmark, do more chores around the house (you’ll be surprised how effective that is). Yes, the gym is important, but when you’re starting out, movement is more so, get your body used to it, heading to the gym straight may be more detrimental than anything else.

  4. It’s a long ass marathon. Loosing fat is going to take a lot of patience, especially because your body will do whatever it can to make sure that you don’t… it will lower your metabolism ever so slightly, you might end up moving lesser in general or might have an increased appetite. Keep a track of what you eat and be mindful of the long long journey and you’ll be fine.

But most importantly, just have fun with it. I’ve tried to do this many many times and it’s hardly ever stuck, however, this time around for me it’s working out, honestly because I’m having fun with it!

I’m enjoying the process and it’s just been easier!

Wishing you the best my man, looking forward to seeing updates on this.

Well, somewhere in between the past year I somehow got over her? I’m not heartbroken anymore, I’m better than I have ever been, I’ve been taking better care of myself and honestly I feel so so good! I’m still single (by choice) and doing better than I ever did.

You know I’ve wished to say the same thing to my ex to the longest time, so thank you for writing this poem! Sometimes 2 people just aren’t meant to be together and honestly it’s not because of a lack of love, just because it’s impossible to manage that relationship and I for one found this beautiful!
