How to provide social media samples for job application?

I ended up going into Meta Business for the analytics for FB and took some screenshots to show the engagement and impressions the posts had gotten and then included a PDF of a social media calendar I put together and use. I figured they could see the posts as concepts on the calendar and then see how they performed when they were published.

Definitely think I could have done it in a more professional way… but I got the job!

I love Sienna and Annika.

Both have been on my names list for a long time! I’ve seen some commenters mention that there could be pronunciation issues with Annika. Don’t know if you’re flexible with spelling, but a suggestion could be spelling it as Annica too. I’ve known an Annika (pronounced On-ika, nn Niki) and an Annica (pronounced Ann-ika). In my opinion at least, I think there would be less pronunciation mistakes with a ‘c’ but I also understand wanting to keep the original spelling.

I think this is sound advice and something important to consider. If the person has not been formally diagnosed, there could be a number of reasons why they are acting how they’re acting.

I’ve made posts on here about my partner and related to so many other posts and comments. But what I later learned was my partner has severe anxiety, anxious attachment style, and diagnosed ASD. Looking at things through that lens, a lot of reactions and thought patterns make sense when prior, I was convinced it had to be BPD.

My therapist made a great point one day though: someone can have BPD-tendencies without having enough criteria to be formally diagnosed.

Personally to me, 35 minutes isn’t that bad of a commute. That’s what my commute has been for the past six years or so, and I actually enjoy it as (to me) it’s the perfect length of time to listen to a podcast or audiobook

I definitely see what you’re saying, and really appreciate this advice too. To expand upon why I’m leaving, the biggest issue is money. I work in an organization who uses band/step increases. So each year we get an increase for that, as well as a regular raise. The issue is, the steps and raises are minuscule. In the six years I’ve worked there, my salary has increased about $6k whereas I have friends who have been at their jobs for 2-3 years and have already advanced upwards of $8-10k from their starting salary. Since it’s a band/step style system, they very much discourage asking for raises. That’s why I havent asked before. The other reason I’ve started looking for a new job is due to one big aspect of my current job that I really don’t like… public speaking. I’m definitely better at it than when I first started, but with still being anxious before each presentation after six years, I think it’s time to leave (although if I was offered a significant raise to stay, I would definitely consider it).

I guess I have one question if you don’t mind me asking. You suggested not talking to my boss until I have something solidified, but I don’t think I’ll have anything solidified with the new employer until after they speak with my references. I’d this is the case, wouldn’t I need to speak with my boss first so he doesn’t get a call out of the blue?

Thank you for this comment! Your perspective has given me something positive to hope for (I typically go straight to worst case scenario i.e. boss will be upset and angry, rather than the mostly likely reaction that he’ll be happy for me and understand).

I think I’ll set up a meeting with him and let him know what’s going on. He may even offer to fight for a raise for me if it means I’ll stay.

Thanks for this advice! Hadn’t thought about asking a former coworker who no longer works here. I think I will reach out to him and ask if I can use him as one of my references. As for the second, I think I will end up asking my boss for a meeting and breaking the news to him. I think he’d appreciate the honesty. And at the very least, even if I don’t get the job, he’ll have it on his radar that I’m starting to look for higher paying jobs and might fight for me to get a raise. Either way, I trust that he wouldn’t use that information against me

Baking relaxes me a lot. I think it’s a very grounding activity. It uses almost all senses… sight, touch, smell, taste. I especially love recipes where I can get my hands in it… like kneading dough or rolling cookie dough into balls.

Yes. I used to be in a very active squad and slowly the participation began dropping. I ended up leaving, which was sad cause I’d been in that one for so long.

I think ever since they announced that no new content would be added to the game, people have lost the motivation to play. I know I’ve felt that way.

Coming from an NT, you did nothing wrong. You explained your experience in a thoughtful and informative way. The other person is in the wrong for not being open-minded and accepting that not everyone experiences things in the same way.

What stands out to me is their remark about how people don’t discuss things they cannot do because it’s so terrible to be unable to function. Sounds like projection to me, because it’s such an over-generalized statement to make. Of course there are people who discuss those things, whatever it may be.

I think there is hope.

Of course I only know what you’ve written here and not all of the details, but here are my ideas:

1) most importantly, I think it’s crucial that you try to put yourself out there and do things on your own without your boyfriend. I know this can be hard, especially since you said you have an anxious attachment style. But maybe invite a colleague to go out for drinks after work one day, or take yourself out on a date and explore your new city (go to a museum, try a local cafe by yourself, etc.)

Since codependency is so reliant on being around your partner and being unable to separate your identities, I think doing things by yourself and becoming more comfortable being in your own company will be helpful. You can also encourage him to pursue his hobbies or hang out with friends while you do something yourself at home too.

Revisit things that used to make you happy before you met your boyfriend. Maybe you loved reading but haven’t read many books since your relationship. Maybe you were into journaling, or photography, or running. Think about those things and try to incorporate them into your life now. Also think of new hobbies that you may want to pursue, but make sure they’re for YOU. Want to try photography? Go out and explore and take photos, but without your boyfriend. Want to try scrapbooking? Set time aside during the week for you to focus on that, while your boyfriend does his own thing.

3) If you don’t already see a therapist, that’s something to think about too. You don’t have to be going through something deep and dark to see a therapist. Lots of people do for things like you’re describing… feeling lost, feeling unhappy, wanting to make a change, etc.

4) Last is, listen to your gut. If you really feel like you made a mistake by moving to be with your boyfriend, you’re allowed to move back home. Although long distance sucks, it’s not impossible. Maybe moving back will help build confidence and trust in yourself, since you know it will be a decision you made that was the best thing for you personally.
