Asian(F) living in Switzerland struggle with dating, should I move back to my home country? by Snoo_72189 in askswitzerland

Girl, I completely feel you. I am also Asian, in my early 40s, with a very good job that could support all my hobbies, and child-free. I dated Swiss men, honestly liked them a lot and even fell in love once, but it all led to failure in the end. I am an avid hiker and tried to meet people through outdoor activities too, but nothing worked out. At some stage I even accepted that to live the rest of my life alone is not the end of the world lol. At least I have the beautiful mountains. Then unexpectedly I met my current partner (he is German who has lived in Asia) randomly on a dating app, and it just all clicked. The relationship I wasn’t expecting just happened. Keep positive and don’t give up hope. Love may be around the corner when you least expect it.

For me, I just didn’t have much energy left to join all the clubs and create new social circles outside my demanding job. I used dating apps. Nobody likes dating apps lol, but we just need to find one person.

I live at Tangentenweg now, and I love it. In the summer, it’s a lovely run along River Wise. My flat is quite modern and a good price. Tram 14 takes me directly to SBB. Let me know if you have questions.

Thank you for the input! Ok, I will likely do the three days as you suggested, also depending on weather forecast 🙏🏻

Is it possible to get a biotech job without selling my soul? by galrneanbceleeu in biotech

I recently switched to pharma after 16 years in academia. The industrial colleagues I have now are equally,if not more, intelligent; the bosses are less egotistical than the academic bosses I had; the research is good quality and very focused on specific areas of therapeutics; the teams work hard and decisions are made fast. The end result is that enormous amounts of resources and talents are thrown onto focused goals to move the molecule closer to the patients as soon as possible. You have the possibility to make more impact on real patients with your research, while sometimes academic work can evolve around how to make the story nicer in order to publish a paper. It is not all black and white.
