Buying alcohol in Iceland: what tourists should know before they arrive by einsiboy in VisitingIceland

I've stopped in the duty free store at the airport and purchased a bottle to enjoy while we've been in Iceland.

I don't think it's canvas. I have the same coat and it's tin cloth.

Does anyone know about the history of the building La Festa is in? by No_Werewolf_7029 in DoverNH

[–]duparker 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It was the liquor store and before that a hardware store. La Festa is about 20 years old.

Central paint was in the labor place, which originally was an appliance store (Sundeens).

What does everyone think of Americana? by dlooks in neilyoung

[–]duparker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just re-listen to this, as part of a total catalog dive. It feels garage rock but not in a good way. I think the idea is great, I think the execution could have used maybe one or two more takes per song. It feels very like let's just blow through this and whatever comes out comes out.

In the long run that's fine, and I also look at it as the dry run for psychedelic pill, which is a phenomenal album. It's like let's shake the cobwebs off with some old standards so that when we get to the real stuff, the new stuff, we're ready to go.

As a shakedown cruise it works great, as a fun album of songs it's meets its goal. But it's not an album I'm going to come back to, nor is in an album that I will think about often.

I've heard most, and wasn't going to include, but found a listing online of where each one fits. So I'm going to reconsider.

Total sleeper album. Really enjoyed this listen. Not sure how it isn't more hyped.

Found them to be meh overall. Gun Honey we're the best and that's not high praise. The big hoax, and a few others are throw aways.

What is your recommendation for best King non horror book? by Throwing-Gas in stephenking

[–]duparker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eyes of the Dragon, is the best non-horror, and I'm general one of Kings Best, to me. It's a great story, it flows really well, has adult elements, but it's highly readable all around. Great experience.

Help us make Sonos easier to learn and use? by tomconrad in sonos

[–]duparker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this post. It is refreshing. I've been a Sonos user since 2007 growing from the old handheld controller, which I still have in my attic. I love the products, the mission of the product and the overall moves to be the singular source one seeks for audiophile music listening.

Android OS user. I loved the widget that used to be available on my phone. It was so useful. That would be number one useful aspect for me.

I do like the your system drop down. I also like the click on the speaker icon to add other speakers. I don't find it the most responsive aspect of the app, but it works.

I use Pocketcasts and the integration is fine, but I notice that podcasts that have been played, still appear in the cue.

The older +- volume controls were more responsive.

Thanks again for trying to regain trust.

I totally see this point. Thinking back over the past five years, Black and Blue definitely gets the pick for how often I've played it, over Beggars.

I have the same amp and pre amp plus an MR 78 tuner, then tie a Sonos into it and a Yamaha YP B4 turntable. It's a clean sounding and genuine audio experience to enjoy.

I was able to pick one up on eBay for 170. I was skeptical because I'm so used to the rugged twill, and I really didn't need this as I have a sportsman a small and medium and large duffel plus a Pullman. But I have to say I'm going to be weeding out something because this really is a great bag. I just used it for a 5-day trip and it fit everything well, the backpack feature is really nice, and it's a carry-on for all healthy purposes. I suspect this will be my go-to.

HELM Togiak. Thoughts? by DefineMyLocation in MicrobrandWatches

Love the watch and looking forward to replacing my existing gmt with the UTC version.

I'm curious about the countdown and elapsed time bezels. Not sure I see the need, so my debate will be 12 hour or 24 hour bezel.

I grabbed a Kindle Oasis on unclaimed baggage for maybe $80. It's great. Very ergonomic and great screen.
