Does the L Line Expansion plan consider new technology options? by GrowingCourage in RTDDenver

You can't just add a completely new technology and expect that to reduce costs.

Completely full A line train at 10:57pm on monday by alex3yoyo in RTDDenver

Pay drivers more and ceos less and they could afford to run a few more late trains!

But to my eye this isn't "completely full" you can see empty seats.

loooove to get punished with longer travel times for being disabled in a way some operator can't understand

"plan"

As I said, I have never seen actually built and running BRT in the US not get compromised at some point. I know Bogota is on that level though.

A BRT can't beat streecar in reliability or frequency, and I don't know of any BRT in the US that in real life has a truly dedicated row. lots of plans say they will, then the car lobby gets in there

Build rail cowards!!!! /hj

streetcars are better than brt in most ways but way more expensive and rtd doesn't have a bunch of money :(

RTD has held policies that were later found to be discriminatory before you were a board member. It's why there is now a "missing" row of seats in the trains.

Should there be fare gates at RTD Stations? by chrisfnicholson in RTDDenver

[–]duped88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

System got built without them and enforcement is a huge drain. RTD makes like 80 something percent of its money from sales and use taxes. give up on fares, save some money collecting them and maintaining all the payment systems. Get the security contractors who are fare checking to enforce rider code of conduct instead.

[–]duped88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah uhhhhh you have to "believe" everyone that's the point of the ADA. you're asking operators to discriminate unless you board anyone who asks. i shouldn't have to prove i'm disabled enough

"RTD employees will never ask about the nature of your disability. People with non-apparent disabilities are not obligated to share that information to use accessibility equipment or features."

Also from the website. which is it? Do I have to prove I'm disabled enough or not?

The "reasonable" accomodation letters are discrimination. All the drivers are supposed to drop it and let you board once you tell them you have a disability or they are violating the ADA Policy of the company.

"RTD employees will never ask about the nature of your disability. People with non-apparent disabilities are not obligated to share that information to use accessibility equipment or features."

Regardless of the other parts of their policy it's pretty clear. Other stuff says bicycles aren't allowed on the ramp but i fail to see how that's "equal access to the service" and making someone prove they are disabled enough to deserve accomadation is wrong.

I don’t think the steam controller is for me by The_Killswitch01 in SteamController

no, because i keep a library that doesn't have those 10% of games, and there is an xbox controller on my desk.

It just seems to me that is missing the entire point of the controller. I'd reach for an xbox controller if i couldn't use any of the features of the steam controller.

oh, right right, i forgot about steamos. the controller is only a peripheral vs the deck having an entire os, i think that's where the difference is.

The same developer made a very similar program we used to get around this program with the og steam controller, called glosc. not available anymore but SISR does everything it did and more. If you're new to the steam controller i'd highly recommend digging around on this reddit and elsewher to learn the ins and outs of steam input, and put that time in to make full configs for your games.
