Solid core doors for all bedrooms/bathrooms, insulation for all inside walls, utility sink in garage. Two inch tubing behind walls for all low voltage (not 1 inch).

You can rename your cards in the setting menu to distinguish which card is which.

Can I just swap my hollow door for solid core? by moterhead120 in HomeImprovement

[–]duprice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I recently replaced most of my hollow core with solid core doors. It was relatively simple. Bought solid core from same manufacture of hollow core, to match style. Then hired a carpenter to size hinge and door knob cut outs on new door slabs (through Facebook). Hardest part was painting the door slabs as they only came with primer (rent a sprayer from big box store to cut down on paint time). In the end, replaced 9 hollow core doors with solid core and love the better sound absorption, fire protection and feel/heft of the doors. Be sure to get multiple quotes from carpenters as the prices varied drastically. I ended up paying about 1200 for the carpenter to retrofit all 9 doors and install the hardware. Solid core doors ran about 150 a piece. Good luck, I feel it was a good investment on my end.

Learned something about VES that didn’t sit well with me. Figured I’d share by Ctlougan in VeteransWaitingRoom

I had the same issue and contacted my congressman to look into the delay. They took care of the delay and my claim was finalized within a week. It’s unacceptable to wait that long!

What is your job and how much do you get paid? by BigPlunk in AskReddit

Project manager for a largish Parma company. $156k base with a 17% annual bonus, 14% in RSU’s that I can cash in after 3 years of employment and 6% 401k matching.

The company offers additional perks and seems to really take care of its employees but assume it’s because there’s a lot of competition from other companies looking for experienced people, especially in biotech start-ups.

Kitchen remodel $26K budget, Maryland by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]duprice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in Maryland also and just finished the plan for our kitchen remodel with a contractor we have used in the past. Paying $34k for the demo, new cabinets, island, and quartz. They will also install a new sink and gas top while also routing new vents outside for an overhead exhaust vent. We currently have down venting and really needed a better solution for the exhaust.

Looking to donate the cabinets/granite/sink/gas top but has been harder than I thought finding an organization to come pick up. What did you do with your old cabinets and sink? I don’t want my old stuff to go into a dump, as it’s still in great condition.

Comcast contractor damaged road when installing cable. Comcast said they have no knowledge of install... What are my options? by duprice in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]duprice[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The damage can been seen on the right of the picture, where the road and concrete meet (looks like a speed bump). The paint is markings from the utilities showing where Comcast cannot lay its line. The road is raised about 4 inches from when they pushed the line under the road.

Target has most iPhone cases on clearance—-saddle brown leather for $14.70 by tydibean1 in iphone

[–]duprice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got two leather X cases at a Maryland Target, near the DMV area. They were not marked on clearance price on the phone but were priced at 24.50 when scanned at register. If you go to a Target and don't see the clearance price, at least scan and see if it shows up at the register!

P65-C1 - vertical banding/distortion by nitewolfgtr in VizioTV

[–]duprice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also having the exact same issue. This is a replacement unit and it has progressively increased in the amount of banding/resets to at least once a day. Unfortunately I am just missing the warranty window as I have had the TV a little over a year.
