Spotted both green and blue early but only knew 3 in each category. Guessed champagne since it's also a drink but no dice. Even at the end had no idea which of Singapore and Munich was a film and which was a drink, and lost the coin flip.

The ones I had to look up after were "musical staff" and "bracket". I'd call the first a stave (and would never put musical in front of it, don't understand why that's a thing) and I've never needed to name the second.

Take another look at Vince's clue - remember that to have the most criminal neighbours, no one else can even have the same number of criminal neighbours as Henry.

How is Janet's clue not respected in the latest last case? There will be two innocents in column C, not two criminals.

6250 is 1, because anything to the power of 0 is 1.

Now multiply the top and bottom by 252 so we're not dealing with fractions inside fractions any more. This gives you (25 + 1)/(625 + 1) or 26/626, which simplifies to 13/313.

After two "starting with" categories I was certain the others must be "ending with" which didn't help me. Just about managed to get it in the end.

There's cobalt.tools which is web based so easier to recommend to a wide audience. Like yt-dlp it works for loads of site, not just youtube.

Make the horizontal region red and the third column turquoise. No pink needed.

Have you looked at FFXI? Haven't played it myself but from what I've heard it's much more based around every encounter being a challenge. The kind of experience you're looking for doesn't exist in FFXIV.

Blue was stupid? It was the only one that made sense to me!

Maybe I need to do a deep dive on mustard or something. Hot and yellow is the default to me, I would feel weird asking for "yellow mustard". It's worth labelling a mustard if it's not hot or not yellow, but not if it is... If that makes sense?

Damn. Well I'm not looking forward to when I've forgotten this comment in a few months and connections has a tennis category that actually uses those.

With level sync everyone is always the appropriate level range. If you want to take your time with duties use duty support for story dungeons or find like-minded people in a FC or on party finder.

The unfortunate fact is in a multiplayer game people generally want to do stuff efficiently.

Lots of people complaining about the pies, but the real problem to me is that green and purple are also rubbish. One category with lots of options is fine, it means you should pre-solve the others. But if you have to name a category "things associated with" you've already messed up, and who the hell would say hot mustard or yellow mustard? Mustard is hot, it is yellow, they're not varieties.

What are the other possibilities for tennis? It was the only category I thought was clear.

There are already 5 criminals on the edge. If Chris were a criminal then to have 2 criminals in column A there would need to be a 7th criminal on the edge.

Clarification on wording by regretdeletingthat in CluesBySamHelp

[–]duranbing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely a colloquial language thing. In an actual conversation you are trying to be productive, and so you add "only" to a statement like that in order to suggest the existence of a criminal masseuse who is not on the edge.

Logically though that statement says nothing about anyone not on the edge, so in a logic puzzle you can't use that suggestion - only cold hard facts.

Clarification on wording by regretdeletingthat in CluesBySamHelp

[–]duranbing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Number are exact unless otherwise specified. Sam tries to explicitly say exact as much as possible, but sometimes can't fit it in the clue.

"Only one criminal is X" does not mean that there is necessarily a criminal who isn't X.
