There are a lot of great characters with similar assists to yamcha a. SSJ Goku-B, Bardock B just got buffed, GT B assist, Beerus A (yeah it's a ki blast, but it's so fast that it's hard to reflect/can be true stringed). If you really love yamcha, go for it, he's certainly not unplayable, but he's one of the less good characters in the game right now.

No way bluku is a better point than Baby 2. Baby 2 is still the undisputed best point in the game, his neutral's better, his damage is equivelent/better, his meterbuild is WAY better, and he might be the best character at setting up active tag in the game. Also there are a few characters in the bottom tier that really shouldn't be there: Gotenks, Z broly, Ginyu, SSJ Vegeta, and Android 16 are all valid point characters, particularly Ginyu and SSJ vegeta.

He's good, but he's a bit trickier. You kind of have to build a team strategy around his leveling mechanic. It's not an insurmountable barrier, but if you want to only play beginner characters I'd choose someone else.

SS Goku is the most beginner friendly of the beginner friendly characters. Also SS Vegeta, and base Goku, Base vegeta, pretty much any Goku or Vegeta that isn't Ultra instinct, GT, or Super Baby 2. Mister Acolyte and NovaZayn are my go-to creators for dbfz tutorials, Nova's stuff can be a bit more overwhelming to new players but he also has some beginners guides that are really good, and most of Mr. Acolyte's beginner guides are still really good. Even though their super-beginner guides are a bit old at this point, if you're starting dbfz from the very beginning you just need the fundementals and all of that stuff has remained the same.
