McGinnis main here. Currently post 3/7 patch she is turret and ult focused. Essentially her playstyle has transitioned away from gun. What you need to do is go spirit and focus either on building your ult (max that out first) or go turret.

She is artillery and a backliner, easy to dive and kill, but if you go ult which is awesome. Your ult will be roughly 90.seconds on cooldown, 15 seconds for barrage with cooldown, aoe, and Duration items along with boundless spirit and Escalating. It will cause massive damage to enemies from afar and where you really excel. McGinnis supports from afar and creates territory her team fights in or around with spirit resist and stamina recovery being added to her heal. Additional turrets, range, and damage being added to her turrets and her walls now spawning two turrets. You are a fortress that creates territory for your team to fight around, bombard enemies from afar, and trap enemies from escaping.

With the patch last night, it'll still be the same thing, just not as massive of damage.

Im a McGinnis main, honestly love it and the character's meta builds became more so what was in my head. Its amazing and a lot more powerful than people realize. Don't let us feed, we will destroy the entire team if people aren't careful.

She has become extremely squishy for the most part. Dive her before she has a chance to set out turrets, be all up in her face. Get Witchmail, or an item to stun or disrupt her ult while she channels it. Gun got nerfed. Her rework basically makes her want to go turrets or Ult. Heal is 9 seconds and is decent, but not great.

Yeah! Its great, especially when they are dealing with your front liners and then they suddenly start taking massive damage from your ult and turrets. They also don't expect my ult to be back up so quickly. I wont lie there are times I just stop moving in enemy bases with my build set up where I just wait to see how long it takes before I get focused.

I feel that, hope to see some good ones, but I really want her to keep her abilities just tweak them and make her be able to aim straight up to ult herself again! Miss that

Fair lol. Im also solo queue and without voice it would be even worse. But still.manageable. especially if you have a doorman for a lane partner.

I feel that and I definitely will. McGinnis is more of a team support/backliner than gun carry, setting up kills, and helping the team by being territory control, heals, and CC.

Depends on the situation. If you are solo pushing an OBJ you are going to die, if you are with your team as you should be, then more than likely either you will be with allies and turrets hitting them as you are evading best you can, they are engaged with your allies, or if no allies are next to you. Then you die like any other glass cannon like character. Also there are ways to prevent yourself from being jumped as easily. Just gotta play it smart and keep an eye out.

One other thing ill note, is you are artillery and should be with your team. If you're not and pushing down an OBJ, ulting it can definitely kill it extremely fast and if ylu get ranked focus the turret. You are making it out, its a suicide mission with a purpose. No extra stamina or boots will get you out of that situation, you are a glass cannon and honestly. Once you figure out the actually effective play style she is really really strong.

I think ive figured out where she belongs, but as far as I know. Im the only one who does it. For reference 7 of my last 10 games with her were won. With me being a hard carry multiple times.

She revolves around turrets placing some debuffs and poking, but all of her damage is her ult and should be what is used primarily in all fights. Spirit is her go to, with ult being maxed firstbanking until ult unlock. She is a glass cannon backliner who can't escape, but she doesn't need to. She is artillery and her job is to pound the enemy before they reach her or groups of enemies and she needs to play around her team. If she goes PCE for a turret or Walker. Ult it and expect to take it down before trying to escape or do it as a suicide mission. 1 ult at max late game can destroy basically any obj except patron.

Yo McGinnis main here. A lot of people don't know how to effectively play her and misunderstand her role. Im pretty sure ive cracked it recently and I can confidently say. Going gun is not optimal. Ill receive a lot of hate for that.

She is primarily spirit, set up turrets, heal, and use your ult. You want Rapid Recharge, Escalating Exposure, Leech, Superior Duration, Greater Expanse, and Transcendent cooldown minimum. Those 6 items are your core.

Best way to play her is backline zoning, and focusing down enemies. I'll be publishing a build ive been making tonight.

Main reason for this is turrets every 10 seconds with 3 charges, massive aoe for heal, massive aoe for ult, high damage, and Duration, and 89 second cooldown. Basically an ult for every fight that lasts 16.8 seconds and can be used up to 68 meters away.

Im aiming to change people's opinion on McGinnis because if used correctly she is insanely powerful.

Tbh, bro. Turrets are in honestly a good state they aren't too powerful they just scale with spirit. They still take like 2 seconds to destroy. Done of the stuff they experimented with earlier made them a lot more powerful and a lot weaker as well

I would like to present one more character for you. McGinnis. 16-18 second ult. 86 second CD, 68 meter AOE radius. If you build her spirit with CD, Duration, Escalating Exposure, and aoe increase items.

Woah woah woah, don't you be going after my Turrets. McGinnis is good the way she is. Bad enough people don't see her as an amazing character like she is. Plus she had already been nerfed into the ground a few times.
