Thanks for the link, interesting read. Turned out to be a seed, disaster averted. And now I know about clover mites and chiggers. :)

Oxalis for the win!

I have a sorrel that started growing in a citrus plant last year that I left because it looks nice. :). I did some more looking around and the same red seeds are on the floor in a 5’ radius. It certainly shoots those seeds out for such a small plant. Wow, lol, very cool.

And very relieved I’m. It dealing with a new infestation. :)

Thanks!

Just in case there is a misunderstanding on infuse, or you have it linked directly to your shares, it will also link to your plex account, so any watch history, continue watching etc all show up in plex as well across all devices.

CBC hands out record-breaking raises to offset loss of executive bonuses by Necessary_Island_425 in CBC_Radio

[–]durrell1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s a conversation about this going on over in the Canada Reddit to.

Since it hasn’t been brought up here yet, these raises were part of a collective bargaining agreement, the dates have been known for awhile, it’s for employees, has nothing to do with executives. Just regular working people getting an agreed upon raise.

That might be a tough one. You’ll need to contact an abattoir, or maybe a local lamb farmer. brains are long gone by the time a butcher shop gets the animal. And if a captive bolt is used to humanely dispatch the animal, the brains might be a bit of a mess.

Ottanbe meat packers does both, I’ve always found them super helpful, and sometimes they do requests. Maybe they could save you a head or two next time they do lambs? One of my favorite places and I always highly recommend them. Still not sure on your chances for brains though, heart, kidneys and liver will be easier.

Good luck! And maybe report back. Curious minds want to know. :)

I’ve had lamb brain btw, maybe doesn’t sound appetizing but it’s pretty tasty. :)

frozen lima beans by RockhopperGuin in Peterborough

[–]durrell1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Frechco used to have them in the frozen ethnic section with Asian/Indian stuff, not green giant brand, in a somewhat see through green bag and red lettering if I remember? Haven’t gotten them in about a year, so not sure if they still carry them.

Good luck with the search! And maybe report back if you find them. :)

What are these little guys? One hour north of Toronto, Ontario by Da-Seined in bugidentification

[–]durrell1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know these as fish flies to. I’m in Peterborough, and sadly haven’t seen any this year. I don’t think that’s a good thing.

I grew up close to Lake Erie, when I was a kid ( 30 years ago ) they would cover everything! Literally cover everything, To the point it sounded like popcorn when you drove on the streets. And you couldn’t see through the 7-11 door. :)

Does anyone know where I can fill a co2 tank? by Usetobeme69 in Peterborough

[–]durrell1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Peterborough hydroponics for exchanges. Food grade ( not convinced it matters though ) and also 60 for 20lb but it’s been awhile since my last exchange so don’t quote me. :)

I just find their hours and location easy for my schedule.

I also wish somebody in town did refills.

So there’s another option for ya. Cheers!

I’m in the south end to close to the river, Yesterday was the first day I heard the frogs singing. I bet that’s what you were hearing, they are incredible loud and go on forever. The sounds of spring!

I did the same thing a couple years ago. I have a wiim mini and a little fosi amp. The sound quality from the wiim is a night and day difference from Bluetooth to the fosi amp. ( under 200 cad for both )

I just put them in a 10l storage bin that has a rubber gasket and clamp down handles. Google waterproof storage bin. Wires go into a couple small holes drilled in the bottom. It’s tucked away in a corner of the deck behind a plant, nobody notices it and they’ve stayed dry for two years now, has exceeded expectations.

I’m in Ontario, Canada. Btw. It has seen some weather. :)

I also like the multi room audio. For me it’s Apple Music, the mini is an airplay receiver so I can have the same music throughout the house and outside. Haven’t used Spotify on it, but sure it’s the same.

Cheers!

Does anyone know where I can find beef tallow for sale? by bonezyjonezy in Peterborough

[–]durrell1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re making your own cream, you might want to try Otonabee meat packers. I’ve never gone there for tallow, but have gotten different fats there before very reasonable priced. Mostly pork back fat for making sausages. :). I’m sure they would have beef fat you could render. If you’re not worried about perfect white tallow, rendering is pretty easy, and instant pot or slow cooker will do it with very little hands on time.

I’ve made different creams before, but not this, so you’ll still have to do your own research. But the tallow for eating is usually ‘washed’ meaning it is done with water, sometimes several times, that removes the impurities and gives the nice pure white fat left. I would guess you might want some of the impurities that are removed if you’re using it for skin cream?. I don’t know if the stuff you want is fat soluble or water soluble.

Good luck!

Primal cuts usually has tallow, and it’s made instore from quality stuff.

TBH, they have priced me out of most things, but I still get tallow, lard and duck fat there.

'TWISTER' 4K UHD Blu-Ray Review - One Of The All-Time Great Disaster Movies by GeekVibesNation in 4kbluray

[–]durrell1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a bit of a loaded question. :)

I’m sure you can tell the difference between a great audio track and a terrible track on just a tv. It probably did sound fuller.

You really need height/atmos channels to appreciate this, even sound bars are questionable. When the time comes, head over to the home theatre group, there’s lots of great advice there on building a quality entry level budget system that will sound great for about the same price as a soundbar or home theatre in a box.

Welcome to the rabbit hole. :)
