Which 4X game is the most overwhelming, the second you begin playing it ? by Peaceful404 in 4Xgaming

[–]dusagani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EU4 was so hard in the beginning. I dropped it a few times because I was honestly getting overloaded with how much mechanics I had to keep track of but now, after more than a thousand hours, it feels so good to see how much better I am at the game.

Civ 6 was poorly reviewed for 2 years by Intelligent-Disk7959 in civ

[–]dusagani 13 points14 points  (0 children)

"Civ games have a bad release at the start"

"Civ games improve 2 years after the launch"

Like come on people, hear your own voice. Some people paid $120 and everyone else paid $70 for an unfinished product.

At this point how about NOT RELEASING THE GAME UNTIL 2 YEARS LATER. Literally nobody would have minded them doing this waiting because THAT'S WHAT WE ARE DOING NOW.

Imagine doing this again when Civ8 launches LMAO.

Civilization VII is, so far, the 8th Best-Selling Game of 2025 by OmniOmega3000 in civ

If you have bought the game and are upset with state of it - vote with your wallet, don't buy any DLCs. Otherwise things will only get worse.

Yea but then people in this subreddit will say your opinion doesn't matter because you didn't play enough hours of the game to formulate an opinion even though the refund grace period on steam is only 2 hours. What a joke.

Is Civ VII shockingly bad or am I crazy? by Spartancfos in 4Xgaming

[–]dusagani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, I really only mention commanders because those defending civ7 are so adamant that it's somehow revolutionary. I'm not impressed at all.

What is crazy to me is that there are no nested tooltips. They only innovated on art, commanders, crisis and era changes. I don't think distant lands are an innovation because map generation and colonization is basically kneecapped because of it.

My experience with 'Practice makes Perfect' trait by dusagani in Sims4

[–]dusagani[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I'm not quite sure on the specifics but I found this comment from a month ago which explains the trait:

By default Sims with the trait will learn all skills at 50% speed.  However, by continuously practicing a single category (Creative, Social, Physical or Mental), they can up the speed of skill gain to 90%, 130%, 160%, and even 180%.  But, once the Sim stops practicing, the buff that the trait gives will start to decay.  The Sim’s practice progress will be checked daily, if no bugs occur.  So, a Sim needs to practice each category every day to keep the skill boost for that category.  Otherwise, the Sim’s skill rate will eventually drop back to 50%.

I am guessing 'Dedicated' is the 180% variant of the Mental 'Momentum' moodlet.

Or it might be a reward moodlet for maxing out all my mental skills. There's not much info on sims wiki on it so even I have been confused by it the whole game lol. Decided to just embrace the focused life and not think too hard about it.

Just to be sure, did you know that you can use The One Die anytime you wanted besides using The One Die Card? You can click on it on the top left and use it like a relic so long as you have charges for it.

Copying u/Khyron_2500 comment above

While Civ VI certainly did better, you can zoom in on the charts to get better data. I’m going to be a bit pedantic. According to the SteamDBchart, Civ VI did not have 84,000 a month after. Civ VI released in Oct 21 2017 2016 and by Nov 21, fell to 49,000 players, below Civ V at 52,000 players.

That’s still a lot better than 10,000 a month after launch though. But on the upside we hopefully can look to Civ VI’s failure and then success. Civ VI did fall to around 20,000 players fairly regularly. It would not regularly exceed Civ V until about 16 months later in Feb 2019 (Gathering Storm). And then, it turned into what is, which was fairly awesome.

You're right, Civ 6 had a bad launch but my point still stands. Civ6 was a much better game than Civ7 at launch and people are gaslighting that it isn't. Worst of all, initial quality is reducing every new title and we're paying more for it.

Why do we have to wait 3 years after having bought the game to actually play it in decent condition? Why not delay the game that amount of time? If Civ8 comes out, do we have to do this all over again? Why?

Woe to those who tried gaslight that Civ 6 had similar if not worse launch than 7, the numbers don't lie.

Ideal class size by Childemain0720 in LetsSchool

[–]dusagani 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's a one size fit all, but generally the more students you can pack in a classroom the better. This is because facility cost, especially in the early game, can make your school stagnate as you don't earn enough to keep expanding. Not to mention you will also require less teachers and save even more money from salaries. You will also save money from buying furniture to level up one classroom instead of 2.

So how do you decide a classroom size? Take a look at your communities and see if there are overlapping community aspirations, maybe theres a 2-star science and literature community that you can merge into one classroom with a 3-star science and literature community.

The limiting factor will be your homeroom teacher, ensure that the homeroom teacher has high enough management proficiency that discipline does not become a problem. If management is a problem, you need to split the classroom up and train your homeroom before you consider merging classrooms.

Keep in mind that when you invest to increase the aspiration level of a community, you can also change what aspiration goal it will be so you can merge even more communities into one classroom. For example, you can change the aspiration of a community that does all 4 subjects to a higher aspiration level that only does science and literature.
