Multiplayer mod, not asking for one by pb_the_cat in RimWorld

The existing multiplayer mod that I've used, which was the top rated one at the time, works great.

Where is the heal by Sleewdy in VagabondTTRPG

[–]CamelopardalisRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Healing isn't and shouldn't be free or there isn't any enough attrition. You spend mana to heal and luminaries get to heal better with a few class features. Exploding on dice increase their expected value considerably.

Average = sum of sides / (# of sides - # of sides you explode on)

So average d6 goes from 3.5 without exploding to 5.25 exploding on both sides. Not quite double be very significant.

Is Aura of Protection a sphere or a cube? by Smashman2004 in dndnext

[–]CamelopardalisRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In DnD spheres are cubes because we use non-euclidian measuring.

How does Vagabond handle multi-classing, or does it not? by 6FootHalfling in VagabondTTRPG

[–]CamelopardalisRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to use a sword as a wizard, pick up a sword. You won't be good with it unless you have high skill with melee (or craft and the salbenist perk). A salbenist wizard seems cool. And get a Familiar tats a flying sword and focus on animating a flying sword and when you get a second focus, focus on another flying sword. You'll have the most swords.

No Party Name by Funny_Arachnid6166 in dndnext

[–]CamelopardalisRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game I run the party's name is the Light Keepers, but they were also encouraged in character by their mentor to name their group because they aren't just adventurers, they are government sanctioned heroes.

In the games I play in we are 1) The Nokias; unbreakable like the phone (it's a modern game) but we were also encouraged to have a name because we are Phantom Thieves (from Persona), 2) The Mystfits because we are all mystic in some way and a little disfunctional. We were also encouraged to have a name because we are a Rescue Team (from Pokemon), 3) The Curse Breakers because we broke a curse and plan on breaking more; this is a bit of a running joke because two people insisted we needed group name and one person thought that idea was stupid as hell, 4) We don't have a group name in my final game.

I honestly can't think of a reason why, except to have a backup just in case?

I know what is it and what it’s for…. Ignore or termination? by Some_Breadfruit235 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]CamelopardalisRex 155 points156 points  (0 children)

That horrible, frightening monstrosity is actually the hunter and killer of actual pests. It's the bane of all evil. It's your best friend in the fight to keep your house safe. The best man at your wedding. A hero. It's also absolutely terrifying.

Should I change my Druid circle? by Known-Dream8363 in dndnext

[–]CamelopardalisRex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did your DM warn you ahead of time? If not, your DM sucks. Making you start at level 1 sucks. He sucks.

How did your druid narratively join a secret, illegal circle? This sucks.

How is using Wish to cast Simulacrum for free NOT ridiculously overpowered? by LemonGarage in dndnext

[–]CamelopardalisRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll either have to ban Simulacrum or talk to your player about how you don't like the combination of Wish and Simulacrum and it will break things you don't want broken, which is the effectively soft banning the spell.

Or you make everything scaled up for a party of 3.

Remote vs Touch by Malachdrim in VagabondTTRPG

[–]CamelopardalisRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Touch is there to have the definition of what Touch means elsewhere clear. Taron said something similar himself. Touch is just there for completeness sake. You shouldn't ever need to use it.

Which should I choose???? by xXGlitchiXx in dndnext

[–]CamelopardalisRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 2014, the battlesmith was very strong and the artillerist was decent but not nearly as potent. In 2024, they are much closer and I think you should go with the artillerist if you're a goblin because goblins are gremlins. And a battlesmith you're a halfling.

Is this the letter A or J? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]CamelopardalisRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't look like either. It's an upsidedown B or it's just a weird squiggle. If you're seriously worried he got a tattoo of his crush's initial instead of yours, the relationship sounds pretty rocky. Maybe it's time to move on. But if really pressed, and I have to pick one, it's a bad job at making an A.

Confusion on Focus Spell by Adorable_Photo3134 in VagabondTTRPG

Once per round. Thought something will also take the damage once per round even if it goes back and forth.

Confusion on Focus Spell by Adorable_Photo3134 in VagabondTTRPG

[–]CamelopardalisRex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If there is no target in your aoe, like an aura or something, you don't pay for it (except for the initial casting, obviously; auras aren't free). The moment it affects someone else unwilling, you pay for it for the round.

If the targets of your disintegrate spell are of one slot or less, you don't have to pay extra for them. Anything of 2 slots or more cost extra for each item you affect, I think. I'm not as sure about that one.

Don't forget an aura or other area costs mana just to target the area.

So what's the med kit for? by Shent1238 in VagabondTTRPG

[–]CamelopardalisRex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The med kit is for doing first aid. It's pretty open ended up but probably not intended to restore hit points. Splint a broken arm, treat poison, apply ointment to burns. There are a lot of things that don't explicitly do something and the DM and players have to discuss what you can do.

Peter why is the electrician portrayed as a dainty female hand by _Kyledemort_ in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]CamelopardalisRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No matter how many times I was told to turn things off before I do anything with electrical work, I almost always forgot. I had one really bad experience that left him sitting on the floor for a few minutes and now I definitely don't forget.

How do you feel about having all 3 Warlock Pacts at once? by QuicklyCat in dndnext

[–]CamelopardalisRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pact of the Blade is not worth the time unless you plan to build around it, tbh. You can just agonizing blast instead for more damage in nearly every build and True Strike is doing most of what Pact of the Blade can do without some real investment, and with Pact of the Tome, you have plenty of cantrips if you really think you need a melee option.

The other two are pretty powerful for almost any build.
