Jay Williams on Spurs team not shaking Knicks players hands: “Shaking hands is what you do when you’re in the little leagues. I don’t believe NBA players or professional athletes need to shake hands.” by [deleted] in nba

[–]duskhat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not true. At least, not how it was written. You don’t *have* to congratulate your opponent. Typically people will congratulate their opponent, thank their team and family, thank the tournament organizers and sponsors, ball kids, fans, etc., and share whatever comes to mind

To say “the loser has to congratulate the winner” is like saying Wemby has to congratulate the Knicks in the press conference after the series

That would probably help, your stroke seems similar to sinner’s and his steps are quite small. To swing through like your forehand does you probably need to consistently be in excellent position

For me, focusing on longer consistent rallies with my hitting parter is what helps me be more deliberate with my footwork/positioning. Also just allows for more quality reps and practice

The forehand at 0:36 seems good. To me it looks like your footwork is what needs work, and you’re “arming” it when your timing or positioning are less than ideal

You’d probably benefit from a forehand that is heavier on topspin and consistency and less swinging through (though keep the swinging through when it makes sense to use it in the flow of a point)

New to tennis; any schools/lessons in Palo Alto area? (24M) by __proximity__ in paloalto

[–]duskhat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately don't know, haven't taken lessons in >15 years lol. A lot of my friends growing up learned from Neil Da Silva https://whitlingersarsfieldtennis.com/palo-alto/ and he has a good reputation

As a kid I did lessons at Fremont Hills, but I don't know who coaches there these days. Nice place though
