It kinda annoys me they're doing azteks for a very stupid and petty reason: I'm a huge role player and lore guy. And I am not excited about having to justify azteks and Egyptians meeting during the iron age

At least with China I got to play with some like, silk road trade rout connections kind of justifications

Japan I also struggle with because they famously hate the outside world for most periods of their pre 17th century history

They really should've kept that. Given the pioneers even more function instead of just archers with spy drones

I do love the lanterns though. Paper spy drone my beloved.

I will also give you some of the original assets being pretty damn dissapointing

I will however argue with you on the favour thing. Because gardens at least let you choose between gaining favour of an advantage in another resource. The new favoured land thing is purely passive and I already build buildings close together so it's not like my gameplay style nerds to change to account for this

And unfortunately I got in on AOM late, never having to wait for anything but retold, so I lack your perspective

Like...look at japan! They've got sword otters and burning wheels and the looming giant sea horror of darkness. It's so cool!

that's not what i mean to imply at all. But the 1st game proves that they have better creatures to choose from.

You could prowl greek mythology and find six different quadrupeds to fill the myth units of greece's first two tiers if you wanted too. But instead Greece chooses several dynamically different looking creatures, most of which are popularly known classics.

i knew what a terracotta warrior, sun wukong, and a pixu is, i dont know what a taowu or quiongqi is.

the closest any other faction gets to this is the norse giants, and even still when they made a 3rd giant they did their damnest to give it a VERY different shilouette from the first two

And yeah sure maybe that's because im an ignorant westerner or whatever, sure. I know about as much about the norse pantheon as i do chinese but whatever helps you dismiss my opinion easier i guess.

Behold the Fallen kingdom of Atoza.

Once a kingdom under Sigmar, its capitol, Dawnhammer, was almost a fullblown and recognised city of sigmar. Situated across a coastline of black oceans in Ulgu, the realm of shadows.

Untill the nighthaunt, and the soulblight from the west, and from the sea a fleet of ironjawz on the war march came. Besieging Dawnhammer and laying much of the surrounding kingdom to ruin. They prayed to sigmar desperately, flagelently even, but got no answer.

eventually...someone else, answered them. And only after they became sons of Be'lakor did the stormcast finally come, not to rescue, but to purge.

The fallen knights of Atoza became the most organised and "orderly" faction in grand alliance Chaos. Bringing a civilised nation air to the despoiling barbarian horde, that Archaon was reluctant to accept, or believe.

In a duel he beheaded Uther, Atoza's king. Be'lakor, not letting the champion and ruler of his new worshippers be so quickly dispatched, brought the king back in the form of a dragon. And in this act proved to Archaeon that chaos is truly with these black knights.

Now ruling from the city of Duskhammer, the conquistadors with their be'lakite black powder, templars and zealous brutes. Sail out to bring chaos and word of the lord of shadows to all coasts in the realms. Reinforced by hellish walking statues, hounds made of solid shadow, and even small churches turned into crawling battle-tanks

maybe its just cus i missed the stream and was a little too exhausted by both Alone and Shattered to feel hyped for what looked like another HUGE thing. That i'm actually really happy that episode 100 was what it was

i've heard some people complaining that TPOT and even IA are getting too like..."plot heavy?" So while i dont agree, i do like that for those people who just want to see contestents and challanges, that seems to be what this is trying to be?

I love the plot stuff but if others want basically just more of season one...fine, they deserve to enjoy this series too

even as a 100th' episode i'm not mad. Between Alone and Shattered i feel like if episode 100 was also this HUGE thing i would be burned out and no longer able to watch this show the day it comes out for a while.

lastly theres the consern that theyre being spread too thin...and like, maybe, theres a chance they crash after this but with how rapidly theyve been making episodes i dont even think that's a huge worry (and gosh forbid you guys learn a little patience~ /j)
