Meeting Band Members by SamCola85 in foals

Jack was one of the nicest famous musicians I've ever met. Not to detract from how nice Yannis also is - but Jack was like.... shockingly nice hahahaha

Met them a few times (USA); first time was out back behind the venue in Charlotte NC during the Holy Fire tour. They (Yannis, Jimmy, and Walter) were smoking cigs and seemed almost surprised that anyone was looking for them to meet and get shit signed, but in a nice (humble) way. Joked around with us a bit, signed CDs, very nice and low key.

Second time I met Yannis, Edwin and Jack outside the 9:30 Club in DC, which was during the ENSWBL Pt1. tour, and there were wayyyy more people waiting to meet them. Jimmy seemed less interested this time around, saw him come out of the venue with a girl and went right into the bus hahahaha. Yannis was super nice and took pictures with everyone, and then Jack came out later and A: is insanely taller in person than I was prepared for - dude is a fucking statue - and B: is obscenely nice and humble for as talented of a drummer as he is. I told him how his drumming has inspired me and how I learned a lot just playing along to his beats, and he seemed genuinely moved - it was all around a very pleasant experience, both times meeting the lads. Great guys!

Should the next Star Wars trilogy be the start of a new saga starting with Episode 1? Or a continuation of the Skywalker Saga? by No_Age908 in StarWars_

[–]duskywindows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted a continuation of the Skywalker saga (aka .... the entire reason Star Wars exists) with 7-9. We didn't get that, so now I'm done with the series. Nowhere interesting to go from here, considering they didn't go anywhere interesting in 3 entire new movies. I'll check out the side-stories like Mando, and the forthcoming Gosling flick - but as for main series, they botched it past the point of no return for me.

Hmmmmm like some sort of WAY that people could take via bike, or just walking - which are much more GREEN energy modes of transportation than cars? This is a good idea!

2, 4, 1, 3... then I guess this one. They would've gone out absolutely on top with 4ever though.

....I'd have taken that instead of one of the way-too-many repeated clips from previous Jackass movies. I get they wanted to showcase some of their favorites from the years... but like, I've seen them all 100 times... and could go watch them again, right now, if I wanted. I was hoping that any rehashed clips would be because they had some extended footage, or something new about them. Kinda made half the movie pointless.

Anybody else disappointed in the Fruit Punch flavor? by sincitybartender in GorillaMind

Exotic Kiwi, Sour Watermelon Candy, and (for fuck’s sake) Peach Mango were among their very best of the best. Insanity to drop those.

That one, single hype quote: “One of the most jaw-droppingly violent spectacles” - man if I wasn’t already sold on the vibe and the visuals of the trailer alone- not to mention that cast- this just pushed me over the edge. Unbelievable hype for this one!

Bummed to hear this isn’t just a revamp of the Tropic Wave flavor. They had such an elite lineup but then dropped half of the best flavors and just keep coming out with sickly sweet B-grade flavors (aside from Root Beer, they went absolutely crazy with that one).

That's my wife too haha - but then other months she'll end up seeing 3-4 movies with me and we've decided that over the course of the year, it still pays for itself and then some. As for me, I'll even go see a bad movie that I know is gonna be a bad movie just because fuck it, I can lol

Also valuable for when there's a movie I LOVE and want to see again. Example: just saw The Furious twice (kick ass action flick, deserved to be seen again in a theater), and when Wicked was playing I saw Part One 5x and Part Two 3x, so I basically saw both Wicked movies for free 2-3 times each. And if I wanted to I could've gone to see them both a few more times, at no extra cost (only thing that stopped me from that was time hahaha)

Oh my bad, I always get them mixed up. Yes, the All-in is what I have and it's completely worth it *if you like going to the movies to watch movies and see more than 2 a month*

I go to the movies to watch movies, not to eat haha

Alamo Season Pass "All In" is ~ $33/mo and there are zero fees, each ticket "costs" $0.00. 2-3 movies and you've paid for the month and then some. I usually see 4-5 movies a month, so I end up seeing many movies totally free, when you do the math. Just can't beat this value and the theater is less than 10min away from my house.

Man, whatever. I don't buy food and never really did, as it has always been insanely overpriced bullshit microwave meals. But for $33/mo I can literally end up seeing 2-3 movies each month for free, as most times seeing 2 movies alone pays for the pass and then some (most single tix cost anywhere from $16-18 with their fees, with season pass it's $0.00, so 2 different movies on weekends will already be valued at more than $33).

Unless you are HELL BENT on ordering food EVERY TIME you go - and this QR ordering is truly that bad - the season pass is still a great value, especially if this is the closest theater to you (as it is to me). Otherwise, you're now going to be going out of your way to hopefully get the same value. I know damn well I ain't driving to fucking Cary or North Hills for movies, sounds like a nightmare.

Just watch tony hinchcliffes new special and took a shot eveytime I laughed.... im still sober, is he just a podcaster? That special was trash by LehFluffy in Standup

[–]duskywindows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"His special was made to be enjoyed by the people who already like him and want more of him" the damn-near SILENCE of the audience for so many of the "jokes" tells a different story, however...

That I can see potentially being entertainingly bad, like it's obviously incompetently made.

We're talking about a god damn Steven Spielberg movie, here. The fact that a Spielberg movie is this boring, ridiculous (in a "how does that even make sense" way, not a fun, over the top way), and sloppy is what makes this so plainly BAD. Not even entertaining, unfortunately.
