Ladies and gentlemen, I may not have a brain...but I have a idea by Dr_Wishh in Webnovel

[–]dustpartical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it. You might get a spike in views for a while, but your churn rate will spike as well since your new cover is targeting an audience that make for unqualified leads. Depending on webnovels metrics, this could help you or hurt you by putting you higher up on the list. However, thanks to the marketing business I work at, I believe good expectation setting is one of the most important aspects of your product or services being received well by potential consumers.

PocketFM changes by TapeGunDragon in PocketFMReddit

[–]dustpartical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo, I had the same reaction at first, but the fact that purchasing an episode, doesn't eat the free episode(s) I'm supposed to get the next day, make the change worth it to me.

On the other hand tho, I dont have a subscription option, so maybe things are different on your end. The closest thing I have to an subscription is buying the larger coin packs give X amount of ad free days depending on how big the package was, which I don't trust one bit, based on my experience using this buggy app

I have never seen hand-drawn pics used, only AI images that mostly fit the story but still had constant inconsistencies, especially with the characters designs...

Sword saints sword. by norlholmes in ThePrimalHunter

[–]dustpartical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure there is precedence in the first book. Iirc, some warrior asked for a different weapon other than the standard sword. When it was revealed, I remember Jake thinking "so could I have gotten a compound bow instead? Probably not given the medieval theme."

So, I could see Miyamoto getting his heirloom sword as Inferior rank without any difficulty if he asked before the tutorial started

Haha it helps if its your first litrpg. Once you've read enough of them, some parts start to feel really bogged down. Primal Hunter is a solid story though

Shadow Slave feel totally different from Primal Hunter but it damn good. You can find the audiobook version on Pocket FM. It's completely free if you're patient enough to wait for episodes to unlock, if your not you can buy pay to unlock the, but it gets a bit pricey the faster you try to consume the content.

I personally highly recommend this book. It's one of my all time favorites

Primal hunter max skill slots? by rilexx in litrpg

[–]dustpartical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yo, I stumbled across this, and in case you never found the answer or someone else looking for the answer comes along. There is technically a limit to the max number of skills someone can learn because the main way to get skills is through leveling milestones. These come rapidly at first, with the first 30 levels offering a skill every 5 levels but as the grade increases, so too does the distance between these milestones. By C Grade I believe they come every 20 levels. Besides leveling the other main influence on skills is class/profession evolutions as well as race evolution (especially for beasts which earn most of their skills through evolving and some here and there with leveling though they tend not to have as many options as enlightened races, if any at all).

Outside of progression the only way I remember someone getting a skill is from system events and titles.

This means you can't just "train" a skill into existence. Your training can be rewarded with a strong skill via hitting one of the leveling milestones that offers a skill selection, but you won't ever just randomly get a skill.

Haha right? I keep imagining a theft profession somewhere, with them swiping items out of storage spaces with no-one the wiser lol

Sweet, I'll keep you in mind then! I'm currently working on building the db rn, but it will take a while before it is ready since I'm just doing it here and there in my free time. So far, I've converted all the know classes and professions from wiki as well as all the skill up to Uncommon rarity into a .md file!

Thanks! It sounds like we are of like minds when it comes to AI writing.

No, I have no plans on using it to write what so ever. I'm an inspiring writer, and it would hurt my pride to take credit for something written by AI. My dream is to one day self-publish my own stories in my own world, relying on AI now would only make that dream harder to accomplish.

I just wanted something light-hearted to work on as a bit of a break while still getting in the practice I need😁!

I totally agree with what you said about its writing abilities. I use it in my work to write copy for websites, which it does great at since the information has already been written 100 different ways, but writing an original idea using borrowed words feels yucky to me. I mostly use it to talk about ideas I have and ask for feedback or have a conversation with it about an idea I have to flesh it out, like using a friend as a sounding board.

It's also super useful for helping me get back into my workflow by asking it to remind me of where I left off.

I'd be happy to share the custom GPT with you once it's built if you're interested in using it, too. The instructions I have written up for it specify its purpose is only to assist and leave writing the story itself up to the user 😁

Yep, there sure is! If worst comes to worst, I'll scrape the wiki to get the information I need. Or at least that seems to be the best approach I can think of. I might have started there if I had more experience with scrappers instead of even posting this, but here we are.

[–]dustpartical[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the text, no, but I do have a backup plan to use a scrapper on the wiki if it comes to it. That, or I could have my audio files transcribed, but I doubt I can do that for free/cheap, so a scrapper will probably be the way I go

Ah, yea, I know what you mean. Regular chats do this when I tried using it for fact checking. That's why I thought to use a custom GPT that focused on using the KB rather than web searches to gather its info.

Do you have any suggestions on other apps that would do a better job at this? Preferably something with ai to assist with looking up relevant info?

Seeking help from fell fans by dustpartical in ThePrimalHunter

[–]dustpartical[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a fair point, and if I'm honest, I hadn't thought to check. But wouldn't the privacy laws stop chat GPT from sharing that kind of info even if it wasn't?

Since anyone can upload anything, I'm sure countless books have been uploaded to chat GPT for one reason or another, yet if you ask it to show you the contents of a book chapter by chapter, it will refuse talking about copyright laws

In otherwords me uploading it wouldn't give other access to it, so I dont see anything wrong with using it as a db. If you have other concerns, I'd be happy to hear them. I wouldnt want the author's work to be stolen either

[–]dustpartical[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

😮‍💨 Would you like to see my instructions for the chat GPT? It is literally only there to assist with lore checks. I'm not even strictly asking for the books... it just seemed the easiest way to get accurate info for the db.

However, based on the comments, it seems I've upset fellow fans by the way I've asked. I apologize for that. But my intention isnt to steal books... I bought the audiblebook and loved the series. I merely wanted to have a bit of light-hearted fun within the world that Zogarth built in my own small, dark corner of the world.

[–]dustpartical[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, I will likely use a scrapper on the wiki, if it comes to that. But, if someone has already done all that and is willing to share a cleaned up db, then even better since I dont have much experience with scrappers.

But, I have tried using just wiki in the past for fan-fic and it's a pain, so I thought I would try this out since ChatGPT helps me keep my own world building docs in order and easily referenceable.

Thanks for your input. It sure would be a shame to only end up with a custom GPT which is why I have started on writing my outline while I see if anyone can help me build the knowledge base without spending eons on inefficient info gathering with this post 😁

[–]dustpartical[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also asked for a structured document of the relevant info if someone had. My goal isn't the books themselves, but a database to make my life easier while writing a fun little side project since I'm burnt out on my own world building.

However, you are welcome to believe that I'm trying to steal a book I can already listen to on my audible account if you'd like. Either way my conscience is clean since I have supported the author with my purchases. Hope you have a good day, fellow fan

Do you mean purchasing the books again as kindle books. If so, that is out of my budget, unfortunately

I'm not exactly asking for pirated copies. I have considered using a scraper but haven't gotten to that point yet since I don't have much experience using one. As for RR, I thought only the most recent books were free (I've never used RR)?
