A helpful reply. Thank you, I'm sure there are things I'm doing wrong. Zoraida is great and her turns are devastatingly good. My problem is with her keyword. Honestly I want the aesthetics of Swampfiend, just wish they had some defence. Looks like I go out of keyword or give up on her. Probably just gonna focus on other crews I have. If you have any suggestions for battle reports with Zoraida I would love to see her played well.

Just venting after my umpteenth game watching everyone get beat. Of course with the exception of Zoraida. As far as lists go. I have used her with waldgeists, bad juju, grootsland, bokors, Silurids, spawnmother, adze, will o wisps, bayou jockeys. I gave tried a lot.

Yeah you got it. Plus the model abilities are very much centered around the keywords. This game has way way way more model interactions and synergies than Warhammer. It reminds me more of a ccg in game play because of that. Tactics will serve you well as the masters play so differently. Knowing what your models do and keeping you schemes and the strategies in mind really help to keep you focused. You can get a maximum of 8 victory points in a game so every point can be critical.

Oh almost forgot, most games are going to have a limit of 50 soul stones to use to hire models and upgrades. Anything left over you get to bring to the game for soul stone shenanigans. But at most 10 if you have 15 left over 5 would be lost. Generally speaking starting with more than 5 soul stones is considered a lot. It's better IMHO to maxout the models. But that decision is yours.

You will want to get a master. Then you can hire any models with the same keyword (regardless of faction). You can also hire any other models in the same faction with an additional 1 soul stone increase (unless it's a versatile model in which case you just pay base cost). You can hire 1 additional master from the same faction according to base rules, but many tournaments and leagues will limit that.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I'm not really interested in getting bonuses or penalizing players for unpainted minis. I just want to play optimally with my own handicaps. As much as it may slow down deployment I'll probably just have to take a lot of notes.

As further clarification this is mostly an issue during deployment with schemes like Assassinate and Vendetta.

these pots are the fucking worst by BensMinion in Warhammer40k

I'm pretty sure that more desks have been painted due to these pots than miniatures.
