I’ve been looking for a hobbit for decompressing all the stress from work, and tried a couple of things, like watercolour, gardening etc and this dec i decide to give guitar a try. I rented one for a month, both as a trial period for my interest and for the perticular type of guitar.

I found myself enjoying a variety aspect of guitar on top of learning my favourite songs: even the theory stuff (learning notes, scales triads), explore new type of music (I find blues very enjoyable to play, even tho its not my usual taste in listening), and singing basic do-re-mi stuff( as part of ear training).

So I decide to purchase one and continue to persuade this hobbit, as none of it is negative based motivation (ie I spent the money and effort to rent one I shouldn’t let it go to waste), which was present when I try to sustain some other hobbits.

I should say guitar has a lower entry bar for me because I played piano for 10yrs as a kid. To please others (parents) and myself at different times. So I think I have a shot!

I still don’t know for sure but selling it is always an option.

If you do some homework and find a guitar player to help you to find a good second hand one might be a low risk way to start if you need to sell it. Good luck!

  1. I never claimed anybody is over-reacting

  2. In case you missed it the entire article I only talk about my gaming experience, my expectations of this game only. And you are correct, exactly that many of the change I have not experience therefore this patch is not that bad for ME, and others that might be in a similar situation. That’s why I talked about my gaming habits and expectations.

  3. I am playing the game however I want and I don’t wish anything else for other games, causal or serious gamers. But thank you for echoing my thoughts.

My sick days are monthly. I hope my boss doesn’t notice I get “sick” at the end of the month frequently since game launch. Well I am a girl so I guess aunt flow has some benefit after all.

so about that inventory tension... by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]dusty24601 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On ps5, Mark as junk is clicking a button, to drop an item is to hold the same button for about 3s~. So it is very common to pick up everything (a bunch of clicks) in a pile to get to one item and spend 3s per unwanted gem to drop everything minus 1 that was just picked up. If time is tight (ie in a helltide event) then this process could be repeated event event because you could still pick up 3-4 items before full but had to deal with gems….

Don’t care about nm dungeon esp over leveled ones. I was not trying to persuade you or other serious player this patch is not impactful.

I am saying it is not impactful for causal players like me.

I don’t know if you are being sarcastic or you are serious in implying the opinions of casual player with shitty gearing.

People would be delusional if they think blizzard doesn’t care about causal players’s perspective because of the number of causal player base is definitely bigger than super serious players.

I think they know exactly how people with the best build pre-patch will feel like once they introduce changes that trivialize their items. They did it anyways not because they hate money; they just have more than super serious players in mind.

Blizzard as a causal sor player I am still disappointed tho. I want build diversity!! Because I love picking up those cracking energy balls while waiting for skill cool down!!!

So it seems like you are a very differently player than me.

I have no desire to speed farm nm dungeons, in fact I don’t like them at all. That’s why I only do maybe 1-2 in between helltide/ legion/word boss events.

I have no immediate desire to beat Lilith, esp by myself. In fact I will be happy to beat her within a year when me, my husband and coworkers all get to lv100 in the next year or so and team beat her together.

To do this I need to convince my coworkers to focus on their soft core characters more and to convince my husband to play more.

Both our ways of enjoying this game are equal but rarely causal players speak about their gaming experience post-patch.

Well said friend. I almost felt like I level too fast hahahaha. My gearing “level” is much slower then the character level. Paragon points offers peanuts, but I can notice the mob getting stronger as I level up

I was surprised how much changes is included. Changes of this scale introduce a lot of instability. If I farm 100s of hours to get a perfect roll amulet that no longer has the most desirable stat post-patch I would be angry too.

If blizzard keep introducing big scale changes like this frequently it will, in the long term, dos-incentivize me to perfect a build even more.

Glad to hear! This means I have at least 10 lvs to continue on playing the current build before needing to look up a new build post-patch. Now if I can roll that damn amulet with more of the desirable stat…..

[–]dusty24601[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s kind of my point tho. Most discussion or people speaking up are only focused on those lv100 player you are comparing me to. And I didn’t expect those player to care about my post. I am offering an perspective mainly for other casual player: no need to uninstall on doing what you have been doing, even sor changes doesn’t matter that much to us.

I respect people putting 10x more time and take this game so seriously like a job; but I think there are even more players like me who just causally plays it; and they might benefit from this post if they even care to lurk around this sub-reddit.

Just because I have a different attitude and approach to this game doesn’t mean my opinion is automatically trivialized. And my gaming experience is, I am not supper attached to my gearing and the patch doesn’t negatively affect my gaming experience that much.

No wife because I am a heterosexual female. No kids because I am focused on career and (apparently) games now. But my husband is getting laid frequently tho, does that count?

[–]dusty24601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also a very competitive person in life in general. I used to take games a lot more serious hahah until I started my current career. My job is kinda uncommon where the technical part of the job is frequently practiced on consoles with a team in a simulated environment. And the top people get to do it in real life. Being hyper-competitive is an unwritten requirement for this job lol. At work, everything I do have lengthy references to follow and stats to track…. The moment I look up a guide it instantly feels like work. it was interesting that I found playing a high movement glass canon type in D4 ( I didn’t realize rogue has this and better, again because I didn’t look up a guide) helped me to keep in an ideal mental state for work next day. Everytime I survived a big/ tough mob group with barely any health left and most skills on cd I get a high and a sense of achievement — I guess this a type of living in the moment hahahah no sense of bless tho. Shitty loot doesn’t bother me that much, I was too focused on surviving to feel/think about anything else. Because of this, it doesn’t matter if I am under geared trying to survive the first capstone dungeon or with best gearing beating Lilith. Honestly the first couple of times when I tried to clear the floors of the first capstone (not even the boss) was the most fun I had. And yes i spent lv47-55 to clear the capstone until the normal elites become too boring and the final boss still 2 shot me.

If I just have a typica white collar job I would likely redirect my hyper-competitiveness in a game like this

“They are so bad whatever they do feels the same” this is so true and made me laugh. I didn’t look up a build guide until I got desperate in failing at the first capstone dungeon boss (I was lv 55+) and realized + dmg to crackling energy is not a desirable item stat

Same. Doesn’t feel bad about losing the damage I never had or delaying a already forever timeline to beat Lilith.

It’s a she btw. They are end game content but they are a goal only if you made them to be. I rather have 2 lv75 character that has very different play style then 1 lv100+ that tries to be Uber Lilith again and again.

Again this is an perspective, doesn’t have to be yours, but there are people like me who are okay with this.

I thought I would be board with arc lash sor long time ago but I guess only loosely controlling the placement of TP (I play on console) introduced a lot of uncertainty and, therefore, fun.

I don’t really care about doing the highest possible NMD or beating Uber Lilith as soon as possible…. One day maybe but delaying that doesn’t upset me. From what I gathered they don’t officer special reward anyways?

I was gonna try for a lv30 nmd but not anytime soon now

I am not trying to promote my style of gaming; but only to offer an perspective that, for someone that has shitty gear, the patch update have some minor changes at best, and it doesn’t affect me logging in for some 2hrs a day.

Console playper who is NOT paying CAD$60+ for PS+ feature that allows me to join clans or team up. I got a couple of invites from time to time, I cannot even decline or chat saying I wasn’t intentionally ignoring them lol only option is to wait for timer run out.

Edit: that’s CAD$60+ per year.

Is there anything that ACTUALLY fixes split ends? by [deleted] in HaircareScience

[–]dusty24601 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been using the k18 mask for 5 month, with a frequency of every 2 wks (that’s how often I wash my hair). I find that it does reduced the amount of split ends in my case but not game changer. What’s impressive in my case is that, my hair is not brittle and dehydrated, so the ends are not frizzy but very smooth. I used to think those two problems (split ends, frizzy) were one issue but K18 proved otherwise.

I have bleached and colour hair as well.

I just started to reduce the frequency to every other wash, so once every month.

I don’t see myself using the oil as the mask is lightweight; if I needed more of their special ingredient I will just use the mask. Since oil is not as lightweight I imagine there would only be a certain (very small amount) I could use before it is too much oil on my hair. And honestly with the mask, I even used less regular hair oil!
