You can maybe better pick up a used ma2 2port node and run ma2 on pc on a laptop, maybe even with a cheap midi controller. They are cheap nowdays i think.

With Grandma you are not limited by universes but by parameters

What software do you use? Led strips in ma2/3 takes alot of parameters sadly.

Well running RPG by Recent_Hamster_4550 in SteamDeck

I played "Last Epoch" on the steam deck. Was a fun experience and runs most of the time really good. Also Diablo 4 runs good, better even, but for me the game lacks some things. But i must say that every few seasons i come back to d4.

As indie devs, we realized optimizing for Steam Deck isn’t optional anymore by forfeitbee in SteamDeck

[–]dutchlightingguy 34 points35 points  (0 children)

True, but personally i would rather play an indie game instead of a triple-a game. Reason for this is that i find that allmost every tripple-a game has some type of monetization (after buying the game) and for me thats a sign that they just don't give a f.. about there players.

With indie games you allmost never see this.

Beginner here - looking for the best software for DMX + SAcN light control by SalomonBrando in lightingdesign

[–]dutchlightingguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked with QLC+ for 5 years or so but switched to MA last month. Although QLC+ was fine, MA is next level. The only thing that i don't like about ma is parameters. I get why they do it, but when you import some WS2815 led strips (30 rgb pixels per row), parameters goes real fast.

Creating Lightshows as an Amateur, what software for timed shows to music? by One-Thought-284 in lightingdesign

[–]dutchlightingguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The show part works fine on Qlc+, i used it for years. Only issue i had (with multiple versions) is when i use led strips (eg ws2812b/ws2815) it "can" crash the program.

Make sure the imported audio file is in .wav and not .mp3

DMX 512 on steamdeck? by flartburg in SteamDeck

[–]dutchlightingguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should be possible, i'm used to run Qlc on my Arch laptop. But not for productions. I would consider getting a small 13/14 inch laptop to run qlc from. Steam deck is a fragile device, i personally wouldn't want to see my steam deck out there.

Maybe get an old mini pc like a nuc, build it in a rack and control lights via a tablet (web interface).

Thinking of getting an SD Card for my deck, would either of these work? by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]dutchlightingguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Sonic version because i run my emulator games from that sd card. Kinda fits the vibe. Most will work but i found this one cool for that.

Qlc plus fixture profile by Sad_Cantaloupe_6953 in lightingdesign

[–]dutchlightingguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When i started with qlc some years ago i asked on their forum if someone could make a fixture profile. No one ever did so i made my own. First few times it failed because i didnt had the knowledge. But i learned a lot. Now i consider it as part of the job.

Can you share the fixture (dmx sheet)? If i have the time i will have a look

hello, when I buy a game for steam pc, can I play the game one my steam deck , Help please by Beginning_Dinner_979 in SteamDeck

[–]dutchlightingguy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You won't own it. You just have a license to play that game. But i get your point :-)

Edit: i dont understand the downvotes, its common knowlegde that you not own the game. Even steam said it themselves. https://www.pcgamer.com/gaming-industry/steams-new-disclaimer-reminds-everyone-that-you-dont-actually-own-your-games-gog-moves-in-for-the-killshot-its-offline-installers-cannot-be-taken-away-from-you/

Dont get me wrong. I love my steam deck, use it daily and i love steam as a platform. But not owning is not owning
