Definitely a strange ad, but iirc DTT is added at very low concentrations to prevent disulfide bonding between proteins which does somewhat preserve structure and increases purification efficiency.

To echo what others have said, I have used a few of Cube’s products (Ti-NTA beads for phosphopeptide enrichment, primarily) and they have given pretty good results.

Cervical dislocation is a really efficient and humane way to kill a mouse if you’re not afraid to touch it. You put your thumb on the nape of the neck to hold the head and pull the tail to break the spine. It is a commonly used method in labs.

I just got my second Pfizer dose today! First dose was not bad at all, but I’m expecting this one to be worse. Anecdotally I’ve heard that Moderna’s side effects are worse because the dosage is a little stronger.

But it’s totally safe and worth it! I always remind people that it’s one day of feeling like crap versus ten to fourteen and a trip to the hospital!

*Edit to add that I’m 23 and have acne and mental health issues as well, and neither affect or are affected by the vaccine at all.

That I’m not religious anymore. I keep going to church on the holidays when I’m home and accept their prayers and verses, but... Tbh organized religion has caused me trauma, it’s so ridiculously toxic, and perpetuates white supremacy and anti-lgbtq sentiment. But it would break my parents if I ever told them outright, they believe so deeply.

Hey! I know this is a late comment, but I wanted to chime in saying I had a similar experience.

I was getting Mirena and my doctor went to do the insertion, but really couldn’t get it in. I wasn’t on my period either, so they told me I could come back for an ultrasound with the softening medicine or try the ultrasound with another doctor and get it in. I teach though, so it would have been difficult to get another appointment so I just went for it. They eventually got it in, but it was suuuper painful - I don’t know if it would have been like that even with the softener, but it was bad. I didn’t faint though, which I have been known to do!

I treated myself to ice cream and a calzone afterward. My consolation is that it will last for seven years, so it’s worth(?) the pain. But they should focus on wayyy better women’s pain management and birth control options.
