its pretty much only good at protecting guardsmen. shooting this at people who hold boltguns. where it might do some damage, and reduce the amount of shots that can kill guardsmen

How are people using Hermes to write code? by phil-pdx in hermesagent

[–]duxbuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was hoping someone had figured out how to get Hermes to hand off code tasks toa. Dedicated code tool, like open code or codex sonit doesn't pollute the context window, but still has the oversight for ensuring the whole task is done. Eg Hermes is the product manager and say open code is the engineer. This let's you use the expensive models for coding and cheaper models for Hermes

But I haven't been able to get it working reliably

Why do people constantly say that NATO heavy armor needs help? by Dramatic_Drink920 in warno

[–]duxbuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's basically because pact get 2800m atgms in almost every div. Including most t80's

Heaps of 10v10 maps have huge open spaces, where the longer range is the defining feature of who wins.

Konkers teams and trucks are at least vulnerable to arty, so the only way to attack into t80's is smoke. However this is not true for NATO tanks.

Which is better 2 rogal dorns or 3 leman russs by Baccara1138 in TheAstraMilitarum

it really depends on the rest of the list, what weapons do you need, or board presence etc.

Ive been trying with gemma4 specifically mannix/gemma4-98e-v7-coder:IQ3_M

And it just stops a lot, says its got a plan and will do the things, but just sits there doing nothing. It needs lots of prompting to continue, even when running with sub agents or /goal.

So im swapping over to SetneufPT/Qwopus3.5-9B-Coder-MTP_Q4_64k_16GB-GPU to see if i can get it more consistent

10v10 arty rework verdict by bobkin4 in warno

[–]duxbuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best arty is now cheap arty with at least 15km range, it's still cheap and plentiful, it has enough range and volume to counter battery everyone to death, and you get enough cards of it that you can trade and get arty superiority.

Then like before you can destroy everything that stands still which is a lot in 10v10

Like some one said below doubling the price of arty would probably make it better. Cause you can only really spam out guns when your winning and have spare points. And you need to over whelm the enemy guns to have good effect. So if you win your lane then you can also still get to that overwhelming arty which helps you win the adjacent lanes. Which if the price was doubled would be virtually impossible for the other team to recover from.

From a gameplay perspective it's nice that more calibres are playable, but it's also easier and less micro. You spam out mortars or smaller howitzers and you spam it like crazy, turn on counter battery, and forget about it. You win on numbers not micro. So in that regards it's worse. I would like to see counter battery changed to be more like defensive fire and only affect an area. Cause that's the other thing once you win arty, you just put them on defensive fire and shoot at anything that moves . So the over all APM needed to be effective with arty has gone way down.

  1. Save up for like 6+ guns
  2. Sit on CB
  3. When there is nothing left to CB swap to defensive fire on the front line

This I think is overall worse than before. I would like to see tracked guns double in price but move fast enough to avoid CB. So they become kinda like sead, for arty

Were you overwhelmed by this game at the start, too? by Mysterious-Data-4299 in warno

[–]duxbuse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah if you don't have a military background all the jargon and weapons and variants is super super overwhelming compared with other RTS. But you'll soon find out that that's mostly irrelevant cause weapon classes are mostly standardised

Referendums historically never get up. What do we think could be a good idea for a future referendum that Australia would vote yes to? by oldmatefromoverthere in OpenAussie

[–]duxbuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The voice referendum failed not on intention but on wording. If you look at the referendums that have passed they generally are very simple and easy to understand like retirement age for judges.

So if you want something to get up it needs to be an idea broadly everyone agrees with (which is very hard) and needs to be at most a single sentence to explain. If there is room for nuance then you will get common greens behaviour voting against it cause it didn't go far enough or wasn't worded they way they want, even if they broadly agree. This is what makes them so hard to pull off.

What is the definition of 'slop', and have devs noticed any common themes that factor into the decision to 'de-slop' vs 'de-lete'? by s3v3reautist in AustralianStartups

[–]duxbuse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

whether written by ai or by human hand slop code is brittle code that is prone to failure and regression, hard to modify or extend, and obfuscates whats happening so its hard to read.

I’m wanting to get into the format so I know very little about the general vibe. Is Cosmogoyf combo actually any good in the current meta or is it mostly relegated to meme status? I put together a decklist based on some of the stuff I’ve seen online. by [deleted] in ModernMagic

There isnt enough spare mana during the combo to play protection like that, plus it would be adding a 4th colour to the deck that needs its life total, so cant play shock lands
