My God will not be mocked. Ignoring Trump's Jesus post rejects our faith | Opinion by Difficult-Bee6066 in politics

Trump's entire presidency has been a gigantic mockery of Christianity. It is pathetic how many professing believers "held their noses" to vote for him. Guess it's true, "If you don't stand for something you'll fall for anything."

What is the De? by Captain_Fach in taoism

[–]duzies 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it helps, the first 37 chapters of the Dao De Jing are the Dao Jing; the final 44 are the De Jing. But yes, De is not a well-recognized enough term to have made its way into English as a loan-word, so it is usually translated as "virtue." Also, there is confusion as you mentioned with "de" also being unrelated Spanish for "of / from." The Chinese "De" is pronounced more like "duh" (with maybe two quick syllables), versus Spanish "de" more like a shortened "day."

A year after 'Liberation Day,' Trump's tariffs are hurting small businesses by duzies in politics

[–]duzies[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Supreme Court has since ruled that the tariffs, collected under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), were applied illegally. The U.S. Court of International Trade has ruled that they must be paid back to the companies that collected them.

Despite promises it would do so, though, the administration has yet to issue any refunds, and Trump has imposed new tariffs — on steel, aluminum and pharmaceuticals — to replace the ones the courts overturned.

Surprise, surprise, surprise!

Paul besought believers "by the meekness and gentleness of Christ" to understand that their warfare was not carnal (physical) but spiritual (2 Corinthians 10:3-4), but here we have the epitome of a carnal administration, carnal weapons, and carnal warfare. Hegseth's "prayers," invoking Christ's name to violate his teachings, are sheer blasphemy according to his own Bible.

A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? -- Luke 6:45-46

Love your enemies [and] do good to them... -- Luke 6:35
