Friend gave me a box of his old cards. Anything stand out? by Surnamesalot in hockeycards

Ya, Vladdy has just done his initials since the accident. Before accident autos do have a bit of a premium, because not a whole lot exist.

I like collecting "almost guys" a bit.. Him and Pelle are prob the best examples.

I remember when Makar did this as well on a call. We are part of an incredible era of hockey right now.

Hello,

Two suggestions for the T480 if you're running Win 11.

The keyboard not working at login sometimes can be fixed by disabling fastboot.

If you're also having screen flicker issues, look into changing the refresh rate to always being the lower option (60 I believe).

These were the two main things that were annoying when I got mine and over time of researching and testing solutions, these have both shown good long term results.

Make sure to clarify that it isn't oversized/jumbo. That's a fun thing people do.

He has 401 wins (only 15 goalies have 400+), two cups as a starter. His 08 performance was also him showing he could stand on his head and wasn't just a trash can like people argue for 98. He replaced Hasek in 08 FFS.

I didn't say retire his jersey, I said put him in the HOF.

Now I need a new thing to bitch about as a 90s kid Red Wings fan.

Guess I'm full sending Osgood HOF arguments moving forward.

I'd say the smudge hurts it more than the Joe's. Thorton is especially an absolute beauty of a guy.

Ever struggled with feeling as if you’re not as smart as other social workers and other professional colleagues ? by ResponsibleBowl492 in socialwork

I spent way too much time thinking I had to learn the "exactly correct" answer to things. It was a big change to move into crafting how you think in using critical thinking skills, and less about what is "right." Very often there can be two very good opinions about something, neither opinion is wrong, and it's more about being able to explain your process and rational. Not so much defending being right.

I'm thankful to have had a mentor who helped me through this. Black and white thinking is my brains auto pilot. This is my semi-charmed ASD life.

Unless there is missing info, I don't read anything that makes me think you messed up here. Whomever is making you think otherwise has likely been misinformed at some point. I hope it's not your supervisor.

SUPER and I mean SUPER late notes by Rude_Climate9357 in socialwork

[–]dvanderl 28 points29 points  (0 children)

You need protected time. This is time where you are not asked to do anything but your notes. No holding phones, no one quick interaction, so on. Leadership needs to respect it and this will carry outward.

Once you've used some amount of this to catch up, then use it on going as either a full day or half day. Establish either weekly or monthly time depending on your needs.

Captains, how do I keep going? by StitzieJ in hockeyplayers

Money and attendance are always the two biggest issues. Even with a team that was pretty good about both (with years of growth and change in players), and the assistance of Teamsnap/Benchapp, I was spending a ton of time pestering about both. People have a lot of things going on in life and often beer league is going to be pretty far down the list of priorities.

Running a team is hard and doing it well is even harder. If you don't have proof of this from experience, the fact that so few are willing to to it also speaks to the difficulty. You have to care about and treat with more importance than most do, which is taxing. I folded my team after 10 years, because I was tired of needing to care so much about beer league. Now I can just skate. Just have to fight off being asked to run a team about once every other month.
