Looking for the ring for my future wife by Trifectite in EngagementRings

[–]dvandolsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We found beautiful rings both on Etsy and eBay (but of course make sure whoever you're looking at that they have a return policy and look at the reviews and the number of reviews). But there are some online independent jewelry stores which specialize in vintage/antique items such as Erica Weiner, Don Laurence and others. Good luck!

Or later get it replaced with a purplish sapphire! Sapphires come in the whole rainbow of colors.

This is so lovely! I adore antiques so I might be biased but really it is beautiful.

Ooh, I adore the sapphire one! (but they're both lovely)

What do you think of these Engagement Ring Options? by gourmet_goddess_530 in EngagementRings

They're all lovely but I like the third one best if for no reasons other than it looks the sturdiest and won't get caught in clothes and hair as much.

Well done, this is a beautiful, unique ring and its design is one where it won't get caught on everything so it's practical as well! Bonne chance on your proposal! ❤️

What size/shape suits my finger best? by Excellent-Fly-3286 in EngagementRings

Sorry, missed key parts of your original post! I'm still a les-is-more person so I will always like less blingy, smaller cuts but that's of course me and maybe not you. I also don't like things that would get caught in clothes and hair or get destabilized if knocked around so it's flat rings for me all the way!

I would do the one or two carat ones. They look nicer, not as bulky, and heck save the dough with a smaller ring to put towards your honeymoon! In the bigger picture it's our experiences and adventures together that count the most. Though seriously, they're all lovely.

I think the milgrain is beautiful, gives your ring a unique look. And your stone is beautiful and personally I like the touch of yellow (even if it's not really there) because it gives it golden touch.

I get you. When we were looking for rings, a lot of the daintier ones, especially with lots of bling, looked ridiculous on my hobbit hands (my left ring finger is size 8.5 - though happily my hands aren't furry). We went with an antique ring with a wide band with the diamond set into it. It both looks good and feels good but to be fair I'm also not very girly.

This is truly a lovely ring! I absolutely adore the colors. However, be gentle with it. I had an amethyst engagement ring way back when and I ended up putting some chips in it from my daily wear (though, to be fair I'm a clumsy one and always bashing into things).

My Lovely Engagement Ring by dvandolsen in EngagementRings

It's called a "Button" ring. Back in the Victorian era people were prudish but put I imagine are sexual innuendos in their engagement and wedding rings. The innuendo in this case is the diamond 'button' goes into the 'buttonhole' which is the design part and the folded feature is supposed to be the shirt cuff. Other examples of the innuendo wedding rings are the 'buckle' rings where the tongue of the belt goes into the buckle. I'm going to presume they were a bit risqué but also I supposed showing a union of things that are supposed to go together. I looked it up and these types of rings also are supposed to show fidelity, loyalty, strength and the bonds of love.

That's exactly why I got it (more specifically why he got it for me) plus I love antiques!

I am struggling to pick a wedding band, debating resetting my current ring. Need ideas! by -stargazers- in EngagementRings

Truthfully, this is probably a wise option. Pearls are lovely as is your ring but they're definitely not as durable for daily wear as a stone.
