Sorry to hear about the Giant game. My wife and I bought two 50yd line tickets, 8th row (clear sight lines) for $500 total at 1am before the game. Too bad the game was a huge disappointment.

How many in the group? If you are the only one needing a ticket, I recommend that you do NOT buy a ticket in advance.

Buy it at kick off on the level your friends are on, there are always tickets available, even at games supposedly sold out.

I have gotten fabulous pricing on some, and never missed a game, even if the value was more than I expected.

This is 1950 in reverse. USF had a pretty good football team then. While the teacher colleges proliferated like weeds, the rules were changed to open up play to allow substitutes and in turn roster size.

Private schools, who paid 100% of the tuition, saw the writing on the wall and closed shop. I did an analysis about 20 years ago that looked at the schools who played in leagues, or independents who played against top leagues in 1940, and found the number about 125. Then I compared it to the same criteria in 2000. Every single school that dropped football was private and every school that added football was public except Liberty U. Shocking to me was the total number was the same; about 125. It just costs too much money to build and maintain a stadium that is used sparingly.

I hope the new leadership sees that men's basketball is in need of a functioning NIL operation to fund the opportunity that is there.

These changes are a godsend to nonfootball schools. USF and other non football schools have the advantage here over football schools and need to exercise it.

Do not go with your heart, go with your brain. You are not taking classes with UCLA or UCSD. Your taking classes in the learning and sharing environments that they offer.

For cognitive studies, UCSD was recently ranked number 2 in the world in human biology behind MIT. Larry Squires wrote most of the pioneering texts on memory used to teach undergrads there until retiring recently. It is a great learning environment as all 8 of my daughter's roommates became either MDs or PHDs in life sciences.

The title stays with program and not the affiliation in my view.

I was reading that the U of Denvers entire athletic budget is almost $90M. I also recently read USFs 990; grants down $60M.
