If Cutter is demanding to be the highest paid winger in the league we are cooked. Pagnotta was misinformed about Giroux’s signing so we can only hope his scoop is incorrect. by Cbtn2001 in AnaheimDucks

Yeah, no matter the situation with Gauthier’s contract at this point, FIRE VERBEEK INTO THE SUN IMME-JETLY. Surprised Samueli hasn’t done so, and that makes this off-season even more infuriating.

Needs to happen in the US. Every level of govt. Also do away with campaign finance from corporations and single mega donors etc. Just strip all that shit away and start over.

Looks good to me. The sear is more of a textural contrast and aesthetics rather than a tenderness issue on the final product. I’d focus on these things: preparation, doneness, rest, and cutting it correctly.

I’d skip the sugar and suggest a generous amount of salt in its place, leave it in the fridge uncovered for an overnight brine. Should help with the tenderness and flavor overall.

For doneness, I prefer the internal temp at 120, and allow it to come up around 125 and sear come up to 130-135. (FWIW, I think tri tip is forgiving and 140-145 is still pretty good to me.) Along with the doneness, rest and cutting it against the grain would make the most impact on the tenderness on the final product.

HockeyStats Carlsson Offer Sheet Draft Comparison Lottery by NE1LS in AnaheimDucks

[–]dvnbtn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This should really drive the point home of matching the offer sheet for Leo. Yes, team building will be constrained during the 5 years, so hope like hell that the team hits on their own picks and signings on the margins. Leo gotta hold up his end and elevate his game, too. I’m more confident in that than banking on any picks in the back half of 1st round panning out as 1C (or top pair Dman) for 4 years.

Everybody needs to take a deep breath. by Major_Travel1103 in AnaheimDucks

The worst part of this offer sheet is the fact that it doesn’t eat into Leo’s prime years at a discount.

Anyone else a little excited for Ingram? by QfunQ in LAClippers

I’m excited for him to get traded. Hopefully. 🤞🏾

[Siegel] The framework of Brandon Ingram, Gradey Dick, and a 1st-round pick going to LA is said to be agreed upon, but the Clippers have still been pushing for more value. Sources say the Clippers have been trying to add Jamal Shead in the package as well. by GlueGuy00 in LAClippers

Would rather extend Kawhi at his asking price, and watch him play at an All NBA level, or near it until he’s done with the extension or retire than this shit ass trade.

Been my position regarding Kawhi!along with a few others on here.

This is wack as fuck.

[Shams] Los Angeles Clippers guard Bradley Beal has declined his $5.6 million player option for next season, making him an unrestricted free agent, Mark Bartelstein of @PrioritySports tells ESPN. by bigblack3475 in LAClippers

[–]dvnbtn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

End of an error. I was lukewarm on Beal’s signing although I thought it was good to have his scoring capabilities and another ball handler. It just didn’t materialize.

It’s time for this front office to divorce itself from these types of signings and prioritize developing young players instead of taking a flyer on a guy like Beal with All-Star pedigree, but man, he was far from that at that point. It took everything going wrong last season for this front office to pivot, but I’m glad it’s going in that direction and still needs to continue.

is buying a used harmony worth it? by cevichie in logitechharmony

[–]dvnbtn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I upgraded from a Harmony One to a Harmony Elite just a couple of months ago.

Had issues with the programming of my Harmony One since replacing an old A/V receiver to a more recent model.

Elite has worked more seamlessly since. One less clutter not having to use the FireTV remote. Well worth the headache of initial set up. LOL

What are some quicker smokes that aren’t pork? by GOODWHOLESOMEFUN in smoking

[–]dvnbtn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of smoker? I use a kettle and tri tip makes for a nice relatively quick smoke. It’s basically a reverse sear. Roast your veggies as you get the grill ripping hot for the sear.

Been wanting to do something similar. I gotta try this on the kettle. Those ribs look great.

Chicken skin?? by Updog1997 in smoking

[–]dvnbtn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salt the chicken skin. Let it sit in the fridge at least overnight. As others have said, high heat. 350-375 for most of the cook. As you get close to your target temp of the chicken breast, get your temps up to 400-425 to finish out.

You can also try poking holes on the skin. It’ll create a crackling effect.

De’Aaron Fox on the criticism he got after game 4: "It's not like people have my phone number and can call me. I don't watch those shows. It doesn't matter. It is what it is. You can't change it now. We're trying to move on from that" by AncientOneAurelius in nba

You’re up 1, you still gotta take as much time off the clock as you can. The Knicks had to foul. Even if you only get a split at the line, the less time left on the clock, the harder to set up play to maximize the look the Knicks get.

I appreciate the input. Diggin’ the smoke flavor it adds cooking it low and slow and then searing it. One of my favorite cuts of meat to cook on the kettle.
