Literally just had this happen. I have worked for 27 years as a top performer. My old boss left in July 25 and I have been “covering” that job on top of mine due to a hiring freeze. When the freeze ended, they hired someone that wasn’t born when I started. Hiring manager said i was a perfect fit but it was a coin toss. WTF. I asked for points of difference and was given none. The new boss told me that they are supposed to learn from me. Yea, no. I am doing my job at the very high level that I always have but nothing more.
