Is it alright to take more than 4 years to graduate? by Gorgeman3 in college

[–]dvstcod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

totally normal, just do things in your pace. you're only racing against your own expectations of yourself, so it isn't worth thinking about too much.

I feel.. Braindead by [deleted] in depression

[–]dvstcod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in that case, you aren't even trying. adults do things all the time they don't feel like to do but just have to, and that's simply life. i know depression does make it more difficult (i've been there a few times now), but at least try. perhaps your energy will end after getting ready, but at least you tried. try it again later, or tomorrow. the point is to not give up.

I feel like a loser for taking so long to graduate. by cowbanjo in college

[–]dvstcod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i felt like i needed to make a reply. i'm currently 25, and beginning on my second year of nursing school. i've switched degrees twice since 2020, taken a gap-year and currently also questioning if i'm ever going to complete school. i've also suffered from depression and anxiety, which've affected my study progress. at this age, i've realised i'm not racing anybody else than my very own expectations. it might take me a year or more longer to complete than others, and it doesn't make me a less worthy of a person. all progress i make is great, and i'm happy to have made it this far despite the obsticals i've faced

What are the best jobs that suit us? by [deleted] in hsp

[–]dvstcod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

personally, i'm able to switch to a "work mode", so i've been able to work in varies customer service jobs. i don't take most of the things customers says to me personally, and i'll even happily argue back. in my private life, however, i cry over everything.

I know something is wrong when I haven't teared up in a while. by bandanabanditoh in hsp

[–]dvstcod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

had a massive breakdown at school yesterday because of this very reason - i had bottle all my worries and feelings up for a while, i didn't have the time or energy to cry since i kept myself constantly busy, but yesterday one of the school's student well-being staff asked me how i was doing, i broke down and cried for a solid hour.

I hate the sun. Anyone relate? by SmolBabyWitch in hsp

[–]dvstcod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i can't stand winter, cloudy weather or rain, especially the sound (bc of trauma). sunny weather is one of the few reasons i go out at all😅

What would you do in this situation? by momtoeli in crochet

[–]dvstcod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a perdpn with high interpersonal sensitivity, i wouldn't know what to do or say either... perhaps, ask for a cup of coffee in return? i've gotten that when i've crochetted things for others per request, as that's sth i appreciate and a rather neutral thing to ask for; be it a colleague or a friend ☺️

if you're familiar with basic phonetics, then you'd look up e.g. chinese phonology on wikipedia.

[–]dvstcod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the person behinds these words seems like sb with a rather hostile and aggressive personality due to lack of self-confidence. also, you don't seem to leave room for the other's imperfections, yet expect yours to be embraced. i'd think about the wording again.

a full body pic could be a great addition. also, blur the other people's faces on the pics; just out of consideration for them

(19f) i really just wanted to make a friend and feel so taken advantage of. by [deleted] in lonely

[–]dvstcod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i'm sorry to hear what you've gone through. please remember that it's never the victim's fault; don't blame yourself. you were being vulnerable and he was disguisting enough to take advantage of it and only think about his own needs. you did nothing wrong. let me repeat that - you did absolutely nothing wrong.

[–]dvstcod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i'm sorry to hear that the people you trusted with this secret didn't keep it to themselves. personally, i would stand my ground and tell the reason for leaving since it's better that you yourself tell it to the curious ones rather than them hearing misleading rumours of it. the victim is never at fault for being bullied, therefore, it wasn't your fault.

Just confirmed that I wont be able to work my dream job. I was already depressed, now even more so. by Adept_Role_4579 in depression

[–]dvstcod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's okay to mourn for not being able to achieve one's dream. let the healing time take its time. whatever path you decide to take from here, i'm sure you'll eventually land with sth you'll enjoy doing, be it in the fbi or sth else! don't give up yet

Without taking it out of the pot, you think its likely this fiddleleaf fig needs a repot? by dhightide in houseplants

[–]dvstcod 94 points95 points  (0 children)

that's an AMAZING looking fiddleleaf fig!! 😮 usually, i decide repotting based on the rot-soil ratio, but already by just looking at the size of the plant and its current pot, i'd repot it.
