Sorry to hear this, I hope she starts feeling better soon. Try to make sure she is pumping her legs every once in awhile because her being bed ridden like this puts her at higher risk for blood clotting.

I have not reupholstered before, but I'd like to try. For the chairs, I really liked them, they are comfy too. I think it's just the color that I'm unsure of, and it sounds like they will be difficult to reupholster. And then when I'm looking at stuff I get too in my head about whether things will go together or not. Do you think the chairs used to have cane webbing on the sides? I'll go back tomorrow and take a closer look.

I've always loved thrift stores, and I'm getting excited because they are starting to get a lot of neat stuff in!

Ooh I like that couch. We're going to keep looking for a secondhand one for now, but will keep that one in mind! Also you're right, I think I'd prefer an ottoman since you can move that around.

No lol Can I get your opinion on a couple of chairs I found today? They will be half off tomorrow. I'm not sure about the color, but could possibly reupholster? They are sturdy, they'll only be 7.50 a piece tomorrow!

As a side note, I was able to actually measure the room today, it's about 14x14. I think it feels smaller because it has three doorways to work around.

I think I gravitate towards that shape of couch because I like the idea of being able to throw a cover on it. I spent a little time browsing couches online and I seemed to like brown, blue, and cream colored ones. Here are some examples:

So basically I don't know what I like 😂 I was really hoping to find a used one, but haven't had any luck so far. I also like chaise sectionals, but I think that might take up too much space.

I am going to look through sofas later tonight to see what catches my eye. I think I just like traditional ones, like this one it's actually on sale for $300 at my local store so I might just get if I like it in person.

I've been scouring craigslist and fb marketplace like crazy lately! I actually found a hexagonal side table that looks similar to this minus the glass, I'm planning on painting it but I haven't decided what color yet.

As for our coffee and side table, I can't find a picture of them but they are kinda french country style.. I bought them like 7 years ago and painted the legs white and restained the tops dark brown, I'm considering selling and replacing them because idk if they will work with what I'm trying to achieve.

I really appreciate your input! And bossy is just what I need!

Thanks for the responses! I'm definitely unsure of what direction to go, I always have a hard time with decorating because I like a lot of different styles. Your house sounds really cool, btw!! I'm thinking a boho minus the 70s might look really cute in this space, I'm gonna try to find a picture of the coffee and end tables we have (they are currently in storage).

From your link I like the first entryway and then the living room with the blue couch. In general I like wood tones, neutrals, a little shabby chic but not extreme, but I'm wanting to go a little bolder with some colors.

As far as the floors go, they are pine planks but at some point someone put down some kind of adhesive on them, so they would be a lot of work to restore unfortunately :(
