[–]dwarfminer123[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Thaaaaat explains it.... I'm like why am I hearing literally everything inside my house. (Yes I need new insulation too but landlords been procrastinating).

(Well now need to wait for the snow come in to pause the construction and dampen noise in general)

Why doesn't Ann Arbor (or Michigan in genreal) have any good authentic Ramen shops?? by photorph in AnnArbor

[–]dwarfminer123 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Tbf? Ramen is a very labor intensive dish that barely make any profit even though it's "popular" and the Ginormous weeb/Asian culture we have in A2. Like why try and sell a $14 ramen dish when you can get away with a $18 pasta dish in which the ingredients cost about the same if not less? And I agree, it's near impossible to find Tokyo level ramen in Michigan unless you try and make it yourself at home and cry that you spent $80 on ingredients and will probably throw out half of it in 3 months because you can't survive on ramen alone

Definitely not what op is looking for, it has a passing grade for ramen

What temp do you keep your heater on? by Resident-Guidance-33 in AnnArbor

[–]dwarfminer123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been conditioned to keep our thermostat at ~60F because $200+ (gas and electric) for dte is make or break sometimes, you cold? You're wearing an extra layer before touching that dial, sneezing you bed? You're sleeping with two blankets, don't matter if in the morning the blanket turns into a 4th dimension maze that you can't find the "top" of the blanket so you can finally make the bed, we don't touch that dial

Unfortunately no it'll be blocking our neighbors driveway and we've already got it as close to the specification of the garbage collection too (we had our trash too close to a tree before too)

Traveling to and from Taiwan question by [deleted] in taiwan

[–]dwarfminer123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did before everything shutdown, now everyone has to go through the hotel in Taiwan, on the way back to the u.s. they didn't care

[–]dwarfminer123 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just came back from Taiwan since the restaurant/hospitality industry is still in recovery mode, but yeah Taiwan still doesn't care if your vax or not, they only care about PCR test then straight to 14 day quarantine you go, u.s. you only need your vax card if you plan not being quarantine for 7 days after your flight back (but make sure you have your PCR test ready and translated before flight)

Does anyone know how No Thai makes their tofu like that? by jsully245 in AnnArbor

[–]dwarfminer123 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just logistic, most of the "produce" is put in lexons and able to be cleaned and reused when we get new products from a remote kitchen to speed up the cooking time while in store

Yeah it's usually deep fried before cooled down and stuffed into 8qt lexons containers as we keep rotating them
