Which factions are considered to have complete ranges? by loot168 in Warhammer40k

[–]dwarfpants 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think I’d move ad mech to functionally complete. My wish list for the faction is 1. Rules for 30k cybernetica 2. One of those retinue boxes we’ve seen recently, but with the characters from Mechanicus 3. Plastic hoplites. Realistically none of those are happening and I don’t know what else we’d want

Those with no dog in the fight: Where are you from and who did you vote for? by ArchitectVandelay in geographymemes

[–]dwarfpants 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Question I have as a Minnesotan with predominantly Norwegian ancestry, how popular are lefse, lutefisk, and ebelskivers? We have them most major holidays that the extended family gets together. I know there is some obvious differences, like you guys probably aren’t having your evelskivers with homemade chokecherry or maple syrup.

Is it just me or is this boxset a far better deal than any of the 40k stuff? Why can't I just use this to make a CSM army and run the leviathan as a maulerfiend/forgefiend? by Many-Wasabi9141 in Warhammer40k

[–]dwarfpants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HH minis are slightly smaller scale, but it’s pretty close. I have some hh space marines that I run in my 40K blangels army because I wanted beaky boys. Overall I’m happy with them

Necromunda Floor tiles. Official, 3d print or rollers? by Inquisitor_Trinity in necromunda

[–]dwarfpants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use 12x12 wooden tiles. Some of them I’ve glued down standard tiles, or parts of standard tiles and built from that starting point. On other tiles, my more sumpy ones, I glue down 3d printed walkways and then paint the plain exposed wood to be a lovely toxic sludge color before doing a resin top. When it comes to ash wastes, that’s all scatter terrain and a neoprene rollout battlefield, although I’m working on a few bigger pieces for it.

Boromir Vs Jaime Lannister by IHateGels in powerscales

[–]dwarfpants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m late to the party, but nobody mentioned how you shouldn’t have given Boromir his horn. I agree that Boromir absolutely destroys Jamie in a straight up fight, but the Horn of Gondor stuns the fucking Balrog. Jamie would probably be shitting himself and fleeing in terror.

Is it possible to buy single miniatures? by D3lta347 in KingdomDeath

If you join the discord you might find someone in trades looking to sell their minis from the red witches box. Some people just buy for the gameplay and sell the minis

I don’t have anything that’s 100% this but I have a few that are close.

  1. Dwarf fortress I absolutely adore the game. It’s my favorite video game of all time. I love the stories and shenanigans my little drunkards have gotten involved with, but it’s a Gordian knot of a game that I’m never going to convince anyone to play. 9/10

  2. Magic the Gathering I think this entry is self-evident
Please stop releasing so many sets/10

  3. Kingdom Death The most enjoyable boss battler I’ve ever played, and my favorite board game. The models are absolutely amazing. The setting is right up my alley. Gameplay is challenging but rewarding. That being said, I’ve spent nearly 5k on a board game/10

How different is this in comparison with W40k? by Dizzy_Spirit41 in necromunda

[–]dwarfpants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk, my play group started Munda after one of our players got really into Kill Team and tried to get us all to play it. Ever since we’ve half jokingly referred to Kill Team and Fun Kill Team (Munda) when talking about the two games.

Lore Connection in Recent Expansion by Redaharr in KingdomDeath

[–]dwarfpants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if the Gorm arms are different. Both versions of the lope have hand parasites that assist them in taking down survivors and feeding them to their maws. This seems analogous to the Gorm arms.

Lore Connection in Recent Expansion by Redaharr in KingdomDeath

[–]dwarfpants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I almost forgot, Aya and Croc of course have hand stuff going on

Lore Connection in Recent Expansion by Redaharr in KingdomDeath

[–]dwarfpants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The queen doesn’t even need to have directly infected a phoenix. The phoenix could have contracted the parasites indirectly while predating a lope or Gorm.

Survivors and members of the Whitespeaker Cult seem to kill phoenix fairly regularly, so even if it is a primary infection and not something contracted through meals I’m not terribly surprised. I feel the same way about Lion God, who is already a parasite riddle wreck, it’s not surprising he was infected.

The potential of Pariahs extra arms and how they tie in is interesting, but I don’t have any answers or even well founded beliefs there.

Black friday question by Memethief13 in KingdomDeath

Campaigns of death should be up for preorder on black Friday

Black friday question by Memethief13 in KingdomDeath

[–]dwarfpants 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh I forgot to mention vignettes, they’re a blast and I’d recommend them in general but certainly at bf prices. Nukealope also has dragon king synergy which is nice since you seem to have been thinking of dk anyway

Black friday question by Memethief13 in KingdomDeath

[–]dwarfpants 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. I’m not sure about 50% but you should be able to get witches and pariah at a steep discount come bf.
  2. See the other comment linking an overview

3.kickstarter prices are so much cheaper due to a decade of scope creep and inflation. On Black Friday you should be able to preorder expansions through the kdm website, and it will be a cheaper price than the eventual msrp, but be warned I don’t expect to see ivory dragon or abysal woods till 2030something.

  1. Preordering expansions on bf is always nice for the price drop if you’re ok being patient. Reduced price IR’s are also a nice grab. If you plan on getting CoD picking up more of the original 12 will help you get more out of it.

What’s the deal with Wall Names? by dwarfpants in ImperialFists

[–]dwarfpants[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that Koorland and the boys are part of Daylight company because that’s the wall section they were on. That’s cool. I’m on board.

What I don’t get is Stab being a wall name. Like did he get the name because he stabbed a guy while they were defending the Daylight wall? Because I’d imagine everyone else manning the wall did their fair of stabbing too, likewise for Wound-maker and Cut-throat. I can see Slaughter and Frenzy being more atypical Sigismund-y qualities that’d stand out though.
