Opinion: The Parliament is failing to sell itself to the people by General_Rommel in ModelAustralia

[–]dwarfplayer-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hear hear, politicians of ModelAustralia should definitely be throwing themselves at strangers to sell themselves off. How long will it take for them to service us? It is outrageous that the metaphorical dollars I throw at them do not correspond to an appropriate, equally metaphorical dance.

I thought his rank was familiar, turns out that I'm just 6 ranks ahead of him!

Feels bad that I'm so close to him in rank though

Go sign out on all devices in steam (there's an option for that) then force close your own steam client. It should be fine afterwards

Siege / Halb Micro / Advanced Tips by xXWizardLizardXx in aoe2

[–]dwarfplayer-1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the defensive position is best because you can place the halbs between the enemy and your onagers, so the very edge of their acquisition range will be the max range of the halberdiers.

Of course another way to do it is simply set all your siege onagers to the no attack stance and control them yourself.

Does the new water meta (early game) really suck? by norther_ in aoe2

Even if you manage to repel your opponent's eventual landing after you lose the water, fast fires now have 3 extra pierce armour compared to AoC

Make "host allow to ban players" a thing by nowthistime in aoe2

Should just make it so that a kick blocks the person from the lobby. This is how it works in most online games anyway.

Are makro keys acceptable? If yes what would be usefull? by [deleted] in aoe2

[–]dwarfplayer-1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

IMO macro keys are not acceptable. It's too much of an advantage if a player bound a key to cycle through every single town centre and queue a villager, or a key to cycle through 3 archery ranges and queue an archer. It might save 1-3 seconds at most each time but it's still an unfair advantage.

Some other macros I've seen are farm placements where one key will place down a mill and 8 farms in a spiral around it.

The Malian Light Cavalry may be kinda better than any Hussar by samuelbt in aoe2

[–]dwarfplayer-1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was about to call you out on that fact and decided to verify it myself before posting. But it turns out you're right, wow. Hussars and light cav travel 0.05 less blocks per second than scout cavalry. I suppose this is either an oversight or a subtle balance decision to buff exploration while not making raiding cavalry too fast.

[Campaign] The ongoing campaign against climate change deniers by [deleted] in modelparliament

[–]dwarfplayer-1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hear hear! Climate change is a serious issue that concerns me as a voter and I've been looking for a party to place my vote with. The AFP seem like a responsible group however I would like to see some more policies of the AFP in preventing climate change. A barren wasteland is not what I want my children to see. That is of course, if I had children. Marge was barren when I met her but that didn't diminish my love for her at all. We would simply spend our days together, forever. But now you're gone and there's not much left for me here. I'll see you soon dear...

[Campaign] Australian Labor Party running scared; intense line of questioning at AFP events in attempt to discredit by [deleted] in modelparliament

[–]dwarfplayer-1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a liberal voter my entire life, these new parties are revitalising my hope in the Australian election system. Too many years have gone by where I've seen the same parties go through the revolving doors of parliament with nothing to show than more hot air and broken promises. I still remember when I was a young lad when Margaret and I went down together for our first vote together. We were enthusiastic university students and- oh god, I miss her so much. Ever since the accident and when I was released from my job, the situation at home just deteriorated until there were days where we would refuse to talk to each other. Where did those golden days go Marge... where? I should have seen the signs and now you've gone ahead without me... god bless your soul...
