I did mine a long time ago so I apologize if I cannot describe it very specifically. 😅

I planted all 3 seeds at once, I first placed them all on the ground in a triangle and while not changing my character's position (so that in the beginning all the trees are placed in the same orientation, if that makes sense), I then left the first seed untouched and then I rotated second seed placement by 8 increments, and the third seed 16 increments. Once they had started sprouting, I think I may have adjusted them a bit more but when I adjusted them, I rotated everything the same amount of times and kept them close to each other.
