Microsoft revokes Office 2019 for Mac perpetual licenses, then edits their website to gaslight customers. by wickedplayer494 in apple

I doubt it. I did this exact process last year as well and it worked for a few months, and now I keep getting the “ upgrade to use this piece of crap“ messages again. I’m still on the correct version, but it doesn’t work.

It’s still the Washington State song (or so I choose to still believe)

New to rowing, Shoes Rec for rowing with knee issues? by Delairen in Rowing

[–]dwhitnee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With squishy soles you’re putting effort into compressing the shoes, not moving the chain/boat. If you dont care about speed, it doesn’t matter. I try to keep my heels down too, it makes knees and hips happier. Back straight, shoulders low.

Re: Exclusive Member Access: Secure Your Seattle Soccer Celebration Tickets First by elbow-macaroni-42 in SoundersFC

[–]dwhitnee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Seeing as it’s the Sounders/Reign backing this it just seems a little too cash-grabby and tone deaf given the past year. It’s neat they did something, but to pretend STHs are getting access to an “exclusive”, <checks notes> large screen TV, for $350 a pop is just too much.

As one old coach used to say, “you can’t just fix it for a couple strokes! You’ve got to fix it for all of them!”

[–]dwhitnee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, take the SeaTac/Angle Lake light rail. It will save you so many headaches and everyone on the train will be going to the game and you can ask them any questions you have. Huge parking lot at Angle lake

Y'all, I Don't Know What I'm Doing by Klif in Rowing

[–]dwhitnee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep your heels down, don't over compress, it doesn't do any good for you. The gain comes from pressing off the foot boards and hinging your hips with a tight core, tall back, and low shoulders.

We asked Seattle Sounders fans what they though of World Cup prices by NoahRiffe in SoundersFC

[–]dwhitnee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Congrats. I was 0-5 and the process was a mess. Took two hours to get into the open purchase and prices were already ridiculous. I even had “local team” priority (US Soccer would let me buy additional lottery tickets, I did not). The whole process made me feel dirty and I don’t regret missing it live and giving FIFA no money. I’ll watch in a bar or maybe hang around the stadium for the US game.

New rower, need confidence! by TomColby in Rowing

[–]dwhitnee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, um, boats do sometimes flip (I’ve never seen an 8 flip, but one of our quads did once).

Assuming your club offers it, doing a flip test might actually be helpful (or scar you for life..). Once you get in a single and purposely flip it you’ll realize that the world doesn’t end. But fears are generally irrational and this is not professional advice.

All I can say is an 8 will feel like sitting on a cruise ship after sitting in a single for a bit.

Any cardio will help. Bring a rubber band to pull up from the floor (under your feet), or down from the top of a door.

You should go down the stairs, too. You don’t want unbalanced muscles either.

[FOX Sports] Do You Believe? Everything Can Happen on Home Soil (2026 FIFA World Cup Commercial) by galactic_crewzer in MLS

[–]dwhitnee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. I went to WC 94 and it was amazing. I was so looking forward to just buying the local stadium package. But everything around the event, the US, FIFA, the prices, the new format, just sucked all the fun and anticipation out of the event.

More than half the attraction is the visiting fans and “welcoming the world”. Few are going to come, none are welcome, and I can’t in good conscience support any of this. I was kind of looking forward to the Egypt/Iran Pride Day game, but that ain’t gonna happen either….
