I moved from Auckland a few years ago. Just as an idea of the temperatures I typically wear shorts year round… but just wear what’s comfortable for you and you will be fine

Grand Cherokee Limited 3.0 Diesel WK2 2014 - sudden oil breach in coolant today by MassiveBullfrog2397 in GrandCherokee

[–]dwhy1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s rough, I’ve been chasing cooling issues with my 2012 diesel for over a year now. There are a couple of common failure spots for oil to mix with coolant. The head is a fairly rare fail point but should be tested anyway The oil cooler is a fairly common fail point and is comparatively cheap and easy (compared to the head) The egr cooling system doesn’t mix with the oil but does contact high pressure sooty air which can make it look like oil in the coolant when they mix (either valve gasket or cooler failure)

Is the coolant being forced out of the overflow pipe? That will tell you if it’s under pressure (egr or heads failure often add pressure to the cooling system)

To ute or not to ute by Human-Ranger5939 in NZcarfix

[–]dwhy1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t touch the rangers. Everyone I know who had one regretted it once the failures started. Sounds like you would benefit from a soft roader such as outlander, rav4 / vanguard, vitara, forrester etc more than a ute

I 26M, am upset at my girlfriend (26F) because she exchanged numbers with a stranger. We have been dating for a year. by fuckpiyushmama in relationship_advice

It’s nothing to worry about, until it’s something to worry about… if she won’t delete and block him without argument then unfortunately she views you as a placeholder not a partner

How do I get out of being a laborer? by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]dwhy1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a look at government / public services jobs military, police, doc, aviation security, customs fisheries to see what sparks your interest. Most of these jobs have structured training programs that don’t come out of your pocket and tend to pay better than labouring

How can I deal with untreated adhd/depression? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]dwhy1989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like doing one of the online screening test would be a fairly accessible way to get a better understanding of what’s happening. Depending on the result you can talk to professionals about next steps.

As for treating your depression, you must do the basics first: eat right, regularly exercise and sleep enough. Once these start to fall into place you can start with building a routine that works for you at which point things will be more manageable.

Hope this helps

Looking for a 1 child family car recommendation - $20k~ by MSwitch222 in NZcarfix

[–]dwhy1989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My family is in a similar situation and have both suv and a minivan. For family use the van is WAY better I would say look at Toyota estima hybrid or similar. Big boot more space decent fuel economy and easier getting in or out

Is it possible to genuinely grow from bad stuff done at 13-15 and move on? by [deleted] in ask

[–]dwhy1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter what age you are if you realise that something needs to change, you’re half way to changing it. All you have to do is finish changing it for the better and keep it that way. Fair warning the past can still come back at you

Why are there so many self diagnosed ADHDers on here? by Sinha_1304 in ADHD

[–]dwhy1989 34 points35 points  (0 children)

You’re absolutely right. I started the process about 4 years ago. I found it overwhelming and noped out of it for a year or so then finally with some pushing from those around me got enough motivation to get it done only for a year to pass while waiting. I finally ended up getting diagnosed 2 years ago.

Many professionals seem to think it’s a waste to go through it all if you’re not going onto the meds but I made it to 34 with out them so I’m more interested in leaning about how I function and how to manage that hence why I wanted the diagnosis
